Cousin time, girls' night, my tall boy, and decorations are out!

On Wednesday mornings, Laura, Sang, and I take tennis lessons together, and our nanny, Karinna, watches both Locke and Evan while we are there.  I am really glad they get this extra time to play together/ get to know each other!







After naps on Wednesday, the boys and I had some fun with paint! This is the most interested I have ever seen Evan in painting... both boys had a great time!


Wednesday night, my girlfriends and I got to go to the Christmas Affair Preview Party Gala. It was a dressy occasion and so fun to get all fancy with the girls! And we got to shop the Christmas Affair without the crowd- which was very nice!

On Friday, LJ and his friend Ben were getting ready for swim class together, and we thought we get a shot of them side by side. LJ is so tall- definitely has his daddy's genes!!

Got all the Christmas decorations down while the boys napped, and when we got back to the house after swim/ dinner, they were so excited to start looking through the boxes!



Of course, LJ immediately found a Santa hat to wear, and had to put on every stocking he could find at least once (thank goodness he didn't find his beautiful one that Queenie made!).


Evan would just carry anything he liked around for a minute before searching for something else!

I am so excited for the season with my silly, busy boys!

A Visit to the El Paso Zoo- Our first time!

We started out the year with a family outing to the El Paso Zoo- and my good friend Sara, Ava, and Oliver joined us!  Oliver and Ava had been there before so he was our tour guide!  We were pleasantly surprised by how many great animals were there! We will definitely be going back! Lots of zebras- and they were hanging ostriches... LJ just observing while Gigi points things out... Oliver and LJ checking out Zebras... Ok the giraffes were definitely MY favorite- watching them drink water was so funny (and a little sad!)...  Gigi, LJ, and Ava looking at the funny little animals... Just funny... Lobos!! The world's largest rodent- gross! Looking at the reptiles... There were also lions, tigers, lots of birds, sea lions, and more!! Think we had more fun than LJ- but hopefully he will be more excited every time we go!

Fun with Christmas gifts!

We got the new fun game for Christmas called Pie Face- and the point is basically to keep turning a knob (as many times as you spin) until someone gets the 'pie' (pile of whip cream) in their face.   LJ had been dying to play and asked all the time- Evan was also very excited, until he saw what this was about!! He got hit with the whip cream 3 times in a row- and after only a few turns of the knob each time! He took it like a champ though! Too funny!  Barrett's turn!  No pie in his face! Celebrating! His next turn... got him on the second turn! LJ LOVED this!  I don't know how, but I managed to turn that thing about 30 times without getting hit with the whip cream! But I was ready for it!  Evan refused to play- and actually didn't like us play...

Ellie's 2 Week Well-Check

 Ellie is two weeks today!! And when I took her clothes off in the morning for her two week appointment, I was surprised to find her umbilical cord was gone!!! Yay (and finally!)! Although I still have no idea where it went (gross!). I am thinking maybe it fell off when I changed her diaper in the middle of the night - and maybe the dogs found it (gross again!). But at least it's gone!! Excited to start giving better baths, any outfit, etc without having to worry about the cord! Overall, we had a very positive 2 week appointment! Dr. Hargrave said she seems to be doing very well, looks very alert (she was awake during the entire appointment!), and is even on the advanced side of the number of expressions she makes (maybe she will be an early smiler!). The only mild concern was that she had not gained her birth weight back yet. BUT the doctor said not to worry yet since she seems to be happy and doing well otherwise, and we will talk more at her 1 month well check. She h...
