LJ and I had an especially fun dinner- he was in a very silly (and smart!) mood! First, he discovered the inside of his nose while pointing it out to me- and he found it hilarious to keep shoving his finger pretty far up there!! We got to spend some time with Aunt Funny (Laura) and Eagle Jr this morning- first we went to tour the preschool they will probably be attending starting next fall (only twice a week for the moms-day-out program), then we came to our house and played for a minute before going on a walk. We came across the biggest snowman ever on our walk- had to get evidence! - With love from the Wood Fam

LJ did great at the gym today- I was nervous because we hadn't been in so long- but he played in the big kid area for an hour! Then we went to Jodel and Dylan's house for a playdate ... Dylan is very good at sharing and fed LJ many snacks! YouTube Video It was a truly successful playdate too because was so worn out, he fell asleep on the drive home- with his bottle still in his mouth! Got most our decorations up ... LJ seems to love everything! He was pointing and making noises at everything, like "look parents, did you see that," and "oh look over there! Something else new!"... Fun!! -Sambo Location: Wood House

Made it through another good Sermon at church without a page to get LJ from their nursery... Although not sure how happy he was since he looked like he had been crying when we got him! Visited Santa again today - this time with LJ's cousins, Kate and Lauren. He was still not feeling the love for poor Santa! -Sambo Location: Barton Creek Mall

LJ just started doing the sign for dad (you touch your thumb to your forehead with open hand- so LJ just touches the top of his head as you'll see in video) last week! The first time was when Barrett had just come home from work, and I said "Let's go down stairs and say hi- dada is here," and then he said "dada" and signed it! YouTube Video So the signs we have definitely seen LJ do include: milk, ball, dog, more, fish, all done, and dada... I suspect a others, but not positive... -Sambo Location: Wood Home

We are on day 10 of this horrible stomach bug! Poor little LJ is starving and really just not himself. We decided to cut out everything except clear liquids and crackers for 24 hours after his last episode at 5:30 pm on Friday night. I woke up to LJ sitting on his dad's lap with the saddest little face ever! Then when 5pm finally came, we started with plain white bread- he couldn't get enough! Gave him a Popsicle (or 2) for dessert, and we finally got some smiling! Can't wait to have our happy baby back!

Today was a rough day for poor little LJ! We started at his pediatricians office at 8:30 am for his Flu shot. I told the nurse that he had thrown up last night- unexpectedly and quite a bit, but she thought it should be fine since he didn't have a fever or any other symptom to speak of... Gave LJ a bottle of milk in the car and headed to Target. He was eating snacks in the cart as I was shopping, and then out of nowhere, he coughed a few times- and then started throwing up all over- so much!!! It was awful! Thanks goodness we were somewhere like target where I could buy him a new outfit and wipes to clean him up! He seemed in good spirits the rest of the day, but we actually battled this terrible bug for another (long) 5 days! Poor baby! I do really like the shirt we got him at target though- sure you will be seeing more of it! -Sambo Location: Wood House

Attempted to have LJ sit on Santa's lap today- he would not have it!! We finally got him to sit on the couch with his friends while Santa stood behind them.... with the help of his first candy cane (must admit giving my 13 month old son candy was not my proudest parenting move-- but it worked!)! He didn't seem to mind Santa so much with sugar in his mouth! We did get some good pictures of all the babies crying and of Eagle and LJ though! They all enjoyed watching the train much more, and it was a pretty fun morning all and all! -Sambo Location: Barton Creek Mall

We got to spend an afternoon at Aunt Patsy's house visiting with the girls... LJ was in heaven playing with Tricia Ann and Brianna! -Sambo Location: El Paso, TX

LJ went to his first live sporting event tonight- UTEP Miners basketball game! He was memorized by all the activity- and did really well considering we stayed out WAY past his bedtime! I will note that he preferred 1st row seats to Capi and Gigi's seats in the 2nd row-- Even sat on Betty's lap (whom he had never met before!) most the game so he could stay there!
