Good bye 2012

Image
Celebrated New Year's Eve at the Edwards' house- a perfect way to finish off an INCREDIBLY blessed year with our wonderful friends! LJ got straight to playing with Dylan and Ben... it had been too long! Some of the most amazing dads I know on baby duty!! Time to make smores! LJ saying 'cheers' - We did our countdown at 8 pm - it was New Years somewhere, and we have bedtimes!!  - The Wood Family

Good-bye Mabel

Image
We had to say good bye to our sweet old brown lab, Mabel.  She has had a rough two months. She had severe bronchitis and starting coughing horribly and losing weight in October. We had over a month of medications and steroids. At the end she wasn't coughing but was still losing weight (we used to always be amazed by how fat she remained despite lots of exercise- and she had recently turned into just a bone)... And then a few days ago she started drooling and kept losing her footing and falling. We think maybe she had a stroke. So Barrett took her into the vet today, and they found a tumor the size of a baseball in her abdomen, and she was not longer able to chew well (eating was her favorite)... so at somewhere around 14 years old, we decided she deserved peace.  She was without question the most patient and wonderful dog - especially with LJ these last 2+ years. He would ride her, hugs her, be rough with her, put hats on her- you name it... and she just sat patiently an

Videos of LJ- December 2012

Here are some recent videos of LJ LJ slipped in the shower and got a little bruise on his cheek :( Luckily he was not hurt badly, and it was gone in a couple of days. http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=TqJX9R2UMoY On Christmas night, we drove LJ around to look at lights in our neighborhood. He was so funny- singing Frosty the Snowman (first verse) and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer over and over to himself.  You can't see him very well as it was dark in the car, but maybe still fun to hear him singing... http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=bn7pe36Wouc He was so excited to see all the lights and to point out all the different things he was looking at... and one new thing he has been doing the last couple weeks is telling us he LOVES things! He loves our hair, he loves his train, etc... Caught this one on phone: http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=-kJZyRq2rx0 (On a side note, he has also started saying "I don't like that _____"...  For example, "I don't like th

LJ's school crafts

LJ has been working on his artistic skills at school. I absolutely LOVE the artwork that he has brought home so far this year, so thought I'd share some of it! Christmas - while I love them all, my favorite is Rudolph! This is our first year of transitioning our tree from all red and gold ornaments to more special 'memory' ornaments... LJ made 3 of these ornaments for us, and the others were special gifts (baby's first xmas for Evan, Big brother for LJ, and of course some airplanes!). Thanksgiving placement Halloween art

Christmas Morning

Image
LJ slept very well the night before Christmas, and woke up very happy. Barrett went to get him out of bed, and then we waited until Queenie and Grandad got to our house to bring him downstairs to see what Santa brought! A video of the moment he comes downstairs... http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=DR7xfB2loO8 Santa knew that he was getting some wonderful gifts from his amazing grandparents this year, so he was pretty modest on LJ's gifts at our house! Just a few- but for weeks now LJ had been saying (maybe after a little coaching from mom) that he wanted Santa to bring him Thomas the Train... and sure enough, Thomas and Percy were under the tree! Gifts before LJ came down (also a sleep owl not in the picture) Here they come! "Wow, look at all those gifts from Santa LJ!" LOVES his trains! And  a little lap top.. . maybe he'll leave mine alone now! A giraffe! Not intended to ride but didn't stop LJ from
