LJ Loses his first Teeth!

LJ's two bottom teeth were definitely loose. He had been wiggling them for MONTHS and insisting they were about to come out! While we were in El Paso in June, one of them got really loose, and he even begged us to just pull it out or take him to a dentist!! Hah!!
And I actually tried, but I couldn't get a good grip on it. Then when we looked up ways to pull teeth (like the well known string on a door handle), the overwhelming recommendation was NOT to do it!! Apparently this could cause a tooth to come out too soon and lead to infection! Who knew! So he had to wait!!

That said, he tooth was getting so loose, it was leaning sideways in his mouth!! It almost looked like it had come out sometimes because it wasn't sitting so funny!

Then on July 3, as I was brushing his teeth before bed (sometimes I make him let me do it so I can be sure they are getting a good brushing), I literally brushed his tooth sideways!! Ah!!! It looked crazy, and he said it was hurting him!! He got a little hysterical (my drama boy!).  I took a picture...
I tried to get in there and pull it out, but he was too emotional and kept pushing me away. So we sent him to bed!
About an hour later, he came down SO HAPPY and EXCITED! He had wiggled it out!!! Yay!!!

Now, having known he had such a loose tooth, the tooth fairy had no excuse to not be prepared on July 3rd! But she wasn't!! Thankfully, I convinced LJ it would be best to keep his tooth through the next day, since everyone in the house was asleep except Sang and me, so he could show everyone!
He agreed!!
But we did make a quick video! He was so happy about having finally lost his first tooth!

The next day, he wrote a  great note to the tooth fairy and left it under his pillow!

Here is the shiny box... it was a baby gift for LJ, and we have waited all these years to put his first tooth in it!!! So special!

She responded with this note:
She also left him his first ever $2 bill and ... a fidget spinner!!! He has been wanting a fidget spinner for months!

The Second Tooth:

We knew the second tooth (bottom middle/ right) was going to go soon too! It started to look extremely loose right before we left for Idaho. But he managed to make it through the entire trip with the tooth!

I often find selfies of the kids on my phone... and LJ LOVES his gappy smile! His permanent tooth is quickly making an appearance! These were taken on our way home from Idaho!

We got home from Idaho on July 25, and on the morning of July 27, we were headed to El Paso.
On July 26, Barrett and I were supposed to go to dinner, but he wasn't feeling good so he stayed home. Since we already had a sitter scheduled, I decided to go out with a girlfriend. And when I got home, I found this on the counter!!!

As I was reading it, LJ came running down the stairs (at 10 pm!!). He was, again, SO excited and happy. He told me all about how it came out from him just 'wiggling and wiggling and wiggling it'!!

Thank goodness (because apparently our tooth fairy just can't get on the ball and be prepared!!) he decided to write to the tooth fairy the next day so he could take his tooth to El Paso to show Capi and Gigi in the morning!

He wrote his note all by himself at Capi and Gigi's house, and we were very excited to learn that the tooth fairy comes to El Paso too!! He sealed up his note before I got a chance to read it, but luckily the tooth fairy snuck it into my bag to take home!

The response:

She left him another $2 bill and ... a cool tooth necklace!!! Wow! He loves it and wears it very often!!

Our little man has a pretty solid gap going on!!! He's so cute!

And the tooth fairy let him keep both his teeth- since he has such a nice silver box for them!!
My baby is growing up too fast- and he's losing the teeth to prove it!

LJ will now tell you he has SIX more loose teeth that will be coming out soon! Oh my goodness!
