Fourth of July, 2017
LJ lost his first tooth on July 3, after bedtime and after we had put everyone else to sleep! Sang and I were the only ones still awake in the house and were talking when LJ came running down the stairs to tell us his tooth had come out!
Then, shortly after he came downstairs, we heard fireworks start to go off!! We had a pretty good shot of the fireworks from our neighbors driveway, and they invited us to come sit with them.
SO it happened that only LJ, Sang, and I got to watch the 30 minute or so show this year.
The morning of the 4th, we had a good breakfast then got the kids ready in their precious outfits from Aunt Sang! My heart may explode of the matching cuteness!!! LOVE!!!
Then we headed down the street to walk in the neighborhood parade! We were probably the first to arrive at the meeting point... so I got to take a few cute pictures of the kids while we waited!
Evan and Charley saw each other and shared an awesome running hug! Hilarious!
Then it was time to load up and go! We had a stroller and a wagon for the kids, and Ben rode his bike!
Skye, Bella, and Cody also joined in!!
Kate walked Bella a lot of the parade!
It was about a mile long walk down to the neighborhood park and pool... kids did great!
They got lots of rides... however they were offered!
And this little stud rode his bike! Go Ben!
Walked with our neighbors, too, that moved in about 5 houses down from ours, and they have a daughter Ellie's age, Adeline! How cute are they holding hands as they wait for a popsicle!
After popsicles, the kids got to go through a fire truck, sit in it, and then pose in front of it!
This picture made our neighborhood magazine!!
After we walked back home from the parade, we decided to check out one more Fourth of July Festival before rest time... it was in Georgetown!
Excited to keep the adventure going!
Monster trucks!!
Sang and her two littlest girls (Charley and Josie) stayed home, so this was our team!
And some cool old cars! LJ learned so much about cars from Ben this summer! It's really cute, and he always gives Ben credit for teaching him!
We grabbed some lunch and then let the kids ride the train!
Taking their tickets...
Kate agreed to sit with Ellie!
And then we let them do the petting zoo!
I definitely don't think they had enough people watching how the animals were getting treated here! The poor bunnies kept hiding under Barrett's legs trying to get away from all the crazy kids :(
There were many cute animals though, and overall, we had fun!
We headed home for rest time, and that evening had our neighbors over for BBQ-ing and hanging... sorry the kids didn't get to see fireworks, but it was a nice, low-key celebration... and perfect for us as we prepared to head to the beach the next day!!!
