LJ's New Bed

We decided it was time to get LJ a real 'big boy' bed! He has been sleeping in a toddle bed (which his crib converted to) for over a year, and it's starting to look small!  He did great sleeping in a twin size bed the whole time we were in El Paso, and this will also allow us to convert his toddler bed back to a crib for the new baby! 

We considered many types of beds... Planes, cars, day beds with shelves.... But finally decided on bunk beds! My brother and I had some growing up, and they were so fun! Also, the boys' room are not very big, so this is probably our only option to get 2 beds in one room.  Here are some of the beds we looked at! LJ - and Evan- LOVED the idea of a bunk bed right away, and LJ said this was definitely what he wanted (over every other bed we looked at!).

Bunk bed forts... cool!!!

We had a lot of fun shopping around, and I got a pretty good idea of what I was looking for. Then we finally found everything we wanted in the new bed at Rooms to Go Kids! A staircase to top bunk (versus ladder for Evan to get up), lots of storage, double bed on bottom, good color wood, and even a cool desk on the side! 

Then we had so much fun on bean bags, that we decided to get some for our new play area instead of a couch (which should work better in the small space!). 

A few weeks later (had to wait for baby's room to be finished so we could clear out room for new bed), we got LJ's new bed delivered! The boys were so excited! Evan loves the top bunk and calls it his new bed! Poor guy! Maybe one day Evan!

BUT because of the size of the bunk beds, we had to switch LJ and Evan's room (Evan's was just a little longer so the bunk beds would fit better). So.... We converted LJ's toddler bed back to a crib and this is now Evan's room! Then we moved Evan's furniture into the baby's room - so we have a crib, changing table, and glider ready to go! Evan wasn't super excited to give up his room (and was a little weirded out), but after a few days, he is adjusting fine. LJ LOVES his new bed - and it's very comfortable! 

I will update more when I get their rooms re-decorated!! We had to get new sheets for the bunk beds (didn't own a single set of twin!), and have to get their things hung back on the wall!
