Corona Quarantine - Week 3

Week 3 of Social Distancing done! Whew! We are still loving each other and having fun, so that's good!! I have had a few pretty sad days, missing life and realizing this could be a new normal more than the exception, but we are trying to stay positive and enjoy/ make the very most out of the time we are given today!

The kids seem to be having fun, overall, too!! I know they miss their friends and school, but FaceTime/ Zoom dates, calling people, and getting outside (just waving at people across the street), all seem to lift them up.

In an attempt to keep our days balanced and flowing, I spent a lot of time getting an outline for our daily activities/ goals this week! I combined the daily lessons/ books from the Scholastic website for each kids level with activities assigned from school, and fit it all into our week! Monday morning, the kids woke up happy and ready to go!
It was a week of pjs and costumes, lots of reading, and some time at Mapache as they finished up work in our house! Whew!
Ellie had to make an animal mask for Spanish school, and all three were excited to get in on the activity! The boys made 2 each!

The struggle is real for Skye dog! haha! She found herself a new favorite outdoor lounging spot!
We painted eggs for our science Egg Geode experiment this week... working on it a little each day!

 Silly boys!

The boys get videos from their teachers most days- giving 'daily challenges' or just checking in to say hi. They LOVE these!!
Hip Hop class for today's workout! Couldn't believe how into it the boys got!!

Ellie got to show all the animal masks they made at her afternoon Zoom meeting with her class! She lasts about 10 mins (of the 30) on these before she says she is bored and asks to hang up!
This dog.... she thinks she owns the place! haha!!

 Tuesday!
Back to working on our Egg Geodes... paint is dry so now we are glueing epsom salt to the inside as a base layer! (New day, boys in same costumes!)

We finished learning activities early, and then B took the kids out to Mapache for afternoon fun/ creek time. I met them there in time for dinner and a fun evening walk. And we found many patches of beautiful blue bonnets!

Kids spent the morning with Dad at Mapache, and he did all the teaching today! They had to write out their own schedules, had a finance lesson, and did workbook pages. They also had several workout / active breaks where they had to run to the creek and back! How awesome!!!

LJ had to send a picture to his teacher of his face when he found out they were getting online assignments starting next week! ha!
Ellie got to Zoom with her dance teacher... she LOVES Ms. Jenny!
What an awesome picture... the kids and Skye, exploring!

And then they came home in time for their Zoom Piano lesson (2nd week of these- going well!!). And then we headed back out to Mapache.

LJ created an April Fools scavenger hunt for Barrett and I- it was SO cute! And it ended with us in their room with 3 kids jumping out from under the bed!! They were the prize we were looking for (after 12 clues and going all around the house, inside and out!). Great job LJ!
Lit a candle on our porch (along with many friends) to be united as we support and pray for medical people around the country/ world on the front lines, for us.

Zoom birthday drink with my friends!!

Thursday! Lots of online math work and reading to start the day!
 And some building...
Our first 'Birthday Parade Drive-by' for Zoey... this made me tear up! Her face was amazing...

Friday morning... We read several books to start, including some about recycling, space travel, and vehicles. Then they had to use recycled things to create a vehicle and explain how it worked. They really enjoyed this one!

A fast mile on scooters and bikes (I was walking with dogs) before the rain hits!
They decided to be totally matching today- I had nothing to do with it! This makes me so happy! haha!
Lego challenge... make letters!
Ellie got a letter from her friend Mia! Yay!
Afternoon Spanish school Zoom- they played animal charades so Ellie was a little more into it (we LOVE charades around here!).

 Zoom date with friends ...

Drawing class with David Pilkey... Boys LOVE this author and were really into this!
LJ's work...
 And Evan's...
Ellie working on her Osmo tangrams... she's getting good!

Facetime date with Queenie and Grandad... of course Skye had to say hi!
And one final assignment was to interview someone... Evan picked Grandad! Thanks for sharing Grandad!

Plank challenge... I did not realize they could hold this so long! haha!

Saturday... we got a new Minivan!! My Toyota had over 130,000 miles, and we decided it was time to trade her in before we ended up having to spend more money keeping her going! So we got a new Honda, and I can't tell you how excited I am!! The salesman dropped the car in the driveway, disinfecting wipes in hand, and car clean, then got into mine and drove off! Done!! We love it!

My new dish washer!! She LOVES doing this, and gets upset if I do them before she has a chance (although, I have to do them after often anyway! We appreciate the effort!).

Quarantined Saturday night, and my husband made us some delicious margaritas!!!

Sunday evening- our 3rd Birthday Parade drive-by! This one for precious Ishaan! (Saturday was Emmy's, but it was raining, and I forgot to take a picture!)

Kids have kept up with their Sunday evening Awana! Third week of virtual meetings with their leaders, reciting the versus they have memorized. Tonight was bruised up night (to remember what Jesus went through for us this week), and the kids all 'showed up' with some pretty awful looking black eyes ;)
