Corona Quarantine- Week 4
The big news for kids today was that online schooling (and turning in their work) started! Monday at 8 am, we got the entire weeks' assignments! LJ has used Google Classroom before and had a much better understanding of it, so he got right to work (and even turned in assignments) while I tried to figure it out! I quickly decided to wait until the evening to wrap my head around it, and we mostly did other things on Monday!
Ellie got busy on Osmo, and Evan continued his skip-counting dot-to-dots!
Morning exercise and exploring break!
Working on her Covid- Time Capsule!
Today's math- reading about a famous mathematician! Evan was so excited to get this book!
A little car building for LJ- he did this SO fast!
Counting pillows in each room and writing comparison statements (part of their school work!) with a little fun mixed in (pillow fight time!).
Evan writing in his journal!
Monday night I spent some time going through the slides, assignments, and Google Classroom to wrap my head around how to tackle this! Tuesday went much more smoothly! We got everything planned done, and we had plenty of time for some fun too!
Evan's journal entry on relating to text!
Getting a little bit of a handle on Google Classroom (although LJ seems to have it down!)... technology is amazing!
LJ entering his circle time response to 'What is your dream pet?' His response- a FRUG (french bulldog/ pug mix)!!
Science- sorting and classifying different types of matter!
A VERY special part of our week, an interview with someone from another generation. This week it was CapÃ- and we learned SO much!!! Huge thanks for sharing so much about your life Cap! That was awesome!!
Lego challenge: Easer eggs!
LJ's Easter egg had a shell that it came out of!
Barrett said he would take the kids for a few hours at least one day a week and give me the house to myself (yay!). This week it's Wednesday since the weather is not looking great other days! So we woke up and got quickly through some assignments before they headed to Mapache to explore, fish, and have some outside fun!
They take a walkie talkie and go! So cool!!
They came back home for piano and a birthday parade, then begged to go back to Mapache! So we brought bikes and scooters (Evan says he's ready to learn to ride his bike- finally!- and he wants to do it at Mapache!), and we went for a nice long evening stroll! Well, kind of! LJ rode...
Evan helped me walk dogs...
And these two had a Ranger adventure!
Then back home for campfires and s'mores!
Thursday! Another favorite mug from my bestie!
Kids started the day with Scholastic and then exploring/ building a rolly polly habitat!
They each collected many, and then combined them into this big one (I didn't realize they grabbed one of my favorite rubbermaid things! Darn! hah!)
Ellie's face- haha! All acting!
Caught these two just sitting and talking about them!
Time for school work! Social studies, journaling, math day!
Ellie is working on her workbook
Workout time!
Never long before we get silly!! Supermans - flying on top of each other!
Facebook craft with Ms. Jenny!
Zooming with their cousins!
Music... Playing on Chrome music lab! I thought this was awesome!
Friday morning at Mapache!
Evan has decided he wants to learn how to ride his bike (finally!!). It took him one morning of effort to grasp how to balance. He went over and over!
A little journaling - a map of the heart and then journal entry about it.
Then home to put his pedals back on his bike... and he was off!!! Yay Evan!!
Another birthday parade... this time for my friend Amy!
We started having piano lessons for Ellie (I am teaching her for now!).
She's very excited!
Finally got a leaf blower- it's awesome, and even better, the kids love doing it for me!
Birthday Zoom
Saturday morning Mapache fun! It was perfect fishing weather!
LJ in his happy spot!!
Ellie is the official worm handler ... she doesn't get grossed out or scared ever! haha!
All Evan wanted to do was ride his bike- all day! So we went home and did another 2 bike rides- one in the rain! Love how he gets obsessed!
Ellie leaving chalk notes for her bestie that lives down the street!
We ended our Saturday night with movies and popcorn! And wondering if the Easter Bunny would come in the middle of a Corona Quarantine....
