My 37th Birthday
The Saturday afternoon before my birthday, I got to take a nap! I don't do this very often now that my kids sleep well at night, but it was needed and awesome! LJ was at his friend Thomas' house for his first sleep over (and I usually try to stay awake to entertain LJ!), both E's (Evan and Ellie) were asleep, and the house was quiet! We had no plans for the evening!
When I got up around 4 pm, Barrett and Evan were awake and hanging in the living room. He kept asking what I wanted to do that night, and I kept saying, "I am doing it!" He said he thought we should go out since my birthday was the next day, but I was really ok just relaxing at home! He was acting a little suspicious though, so I started thinking maybe some friends would be coming over to surprise me or something. I kept asking him, and he just denied anything. Then, about 45 minutes later, as I was still sitting on the couch, I got a small tap on the shoulder and a huge "SURPRISE!!!" Capi and Gigi had snuck in the garage and into our house to surprise me! HOW AMAZING!!!! Barrett and LJ knew about this (even though LJ would be missing them on their 15 hour visit!!).
So after some quick catching up and wine, we got ready and headed out for a sushi dinner (my favorite!).
Picture at our dinner! I did NOT see this wonderful evening coming!
My sweet husband!
And the next morning, my brother came by! Parents left around 9:30, but we had about an hour with Joe before they left! First time Joe has made it to our new house, and I was SO happy to see him!!! What a full and happy heart for my 37th birthday with my family! I was so sad LJ wasn't there, but he was having a blast!
Then after LJ's birthday party, my bestie met me for a coffee/pedi! Another slice of heaven for me!!
And later that week, I got to go out with these two amazing ladies to celebrate both my and Sang's birthdays. I am so grateful for these girls!!!
And a quick shout out to my first and incredibly-missed birthday -mate, my Dad. He would be 70 today... how is that possible! Oh how we miss you!
Here is a picture of us celebrating my 13th birthday and his 46th.
We celebrated every year together, a special dad-daughter date, but sadly I don't have a single picture of those dates! Our last one was at Cafe Central, my 17th and his 50th birthday, one of the most special and cherished nights in my life.
