Girls' Week! Aug 2016

While the boys went to Idaho, Ellie and I tried hard to keep busy and have lots of fun! I can definitely say we succeeded!!! (Sorry it's a long post!)
Saying good-bye to our boys as we dropped them at the airport early Tuesday morning!

Then we headed to meet my friend Patrick and his son, Jayce, for breakfast at Magnolia. After breakfast, we randomly decided to go find a place to let the kids run and play, and somehow ended up at the Liz Carpenter Splash Pad! Since this wasn't planned, we did not have swim suits or towels, but we had sunscreen and a hot day- so the kids loved it!
Kids warming up to the idea of a splash pad!

 Now she's into it!!!

Then we had a quick coffee date with Karyn and Piper at Whole Foods. Unfortunately the slide was so hot that only the stuffed animals could go down it, but we still had a great time catching up!!

While Ellie napped, I snuck off to get my hair done! Yay!!
Saying good-night to our boys! House already feels WAY TOO quiet, and we are only a day in!!

Wednesday morning Target shopping! Ellie surprisingly hasn't asked about the boys much... maybe she understands that they are out of town?!

My cleaning helper!!
She is obsessed with her light/ fan remote!
She loves playing fetch with Bella (and Bella loves that she has more people to throw the ball for her nowadays!!).

Wednesday afternoon we headed to my cousin Alexa's house to drop Bella off for the weekend. Bella LOVES Alexa, and will have fun playing with her dog, Finn!! But I don't think she liked her humans driving away!! If you look closely in the window, you can see Bella's little body in the window! Haha!

After dropping Bella, we went out to a girls dinner and a fun place around the corner from her house.
 Cheers!!!
 Well... lots of cheersing!!!
 Happy silly girl!!!

This made me laugh out loud... Alexa sent me a text saying Bella is adjusting just fine! Poor Finn!!! She has taken his big bed over, and he is trying to squeeze onto her little pink one! HAHAHA!

Thursday morning, I had a class to teach at the gym, and then right after an early rest time, we headed to the airport to go to El Paso!
Ellie reading and drinking at the airport while we wait!
I did not buy her a seat (she can fly free until she is 2 years old), and I was SO THANKFUL the plane was empty enough for her to have her own seat! Yay!!! All buckled in and ready for take-off!
She was actually pretty well behaved on our flight, although she was did demand a significant amount of attention from the very sweet lady sitting next to us! Thankfully she was a grandmother of similarly-aged kids and was not bothered by her constant talking, tapping, and movement!! I did not get another picture though as I was busy trying to keep Ellie entertained!!

And we made it!! Yay Gigi!!!
We headed to the Tecma offices to see Capi and wish Oscar a happy birthday!

Then we headed home and tried to get to bed early.... but it was a weird night for Ellie, and she was up a lot!

Friday we got up early and squeezed in a quick swim with Grandma. Then after a nap, we went straight to the hanger for Ellie's first helicopter ride- all the way to Ruidoso!!!

Getting Ellie all strapped in to Yellow Bird...
They let me sit up front!! Yay!

Ellie had a lot of important things to tell us in her headset!

In the air!!! I LOVE riding in Yellow Bird!!! It's so amazing!
Corn maze is growing!!! Maybe we can do it when we come back in October!

Pictures just don't do this justice!!!
 Still entertained...
OK- now she's making Gigi work!! Pulling out the ipad!
 Snack time!
Take a load off Ellie!! Love the foot rest (Or Capi's chair!)!

 Such a pretty flight!

Here's a quick video from our flight for anyone interested! It's not this loud for us with our headsets on, but so fun!!

And down we go....
 That was too fun!
Unloading in a field by their rental house in Ruidoso!
And then we quickly changed and headed to dinner at the Club. Ellie did great- despite it being extremely late for her!!!
Ice cream for being such a great girl through a late, long dinner!!!
A little fresh (and cold!!) air while we get ready to leave the club.
Love this precious new outfit Gigi surprised us with! How cute!!
 Breakfast with a view!!!

Late breakfast/ lunch at another club! Selfie for the boys!
 It's so nice up here!!
 Those eyes!

Ellie got a short ride in the convertible with Capi!!

Hanging on the porch with her Capi!
Working with Gigi in her office!
Uh oh- she found where the M&Ms are kept!
She came down the stairs in random reading glasses she found! So proud of herself!
And it's already time to head back to El Paso!

 Love this pic!!

And then... Capi let me fly!!! I was trying to remain cool...
But actually I was kinda freakin out!!!

I did eventually relax into it a little, and it was SO FUN!!! First time flying a helicopter! LOVE IT!

Our last day in El Paso, we snuck in a quick morning swim with Grandma, came home for a nap, and then Ellie and I headed to the airport to go home!

I found Ellie relaxing with her Capi!!!
Goog bye hugs to our Gigi!!
She just looked so cute, had to get a picture!

 Watching our plane come in...
YAY!!! She got her own seat again!! Plane was actually pretty empty, but a nice guy asked if he could sit by Ellie because he was expecting his first baby in a few months! I told him he might want to enjoy his last flights of freedom, but glad he ended up staying and entertaining Ellie a little!! I really lucked out on our flights with nice people to sit by!!!

Got her a new coloring book just for our flight home!
Waiting for our luggage...love her crossed arms! Haha!

We made it home and to bed just on time! What a wonderful weekend (although our trip was too short!!). I also valeted our car for the first time- what a GREAT option for when you have kids/ carseats and need to park there! So easy and not too expensive!
I loved our little girl adventure together!!

Just two days back in Austin before we are whole again... So we had to keep ourselves busy!! Monday morning we found Sang, Charley and Josie for a coffee date at a duck pond! Hungry ducks!!!

Precious Charley!

Love these sweet girls so much!!

 Feeding away!
  Besties!

 Loving her pigtails!
A little shopping at Trader Joe's!
She loves pushing the basket for me!
Then to Alexa's house to pick up Bella... and look, she's still waiting in the window!!! She had a wonderful weekend full of fun with Aunt Alexa and Finn!!
We gave Bella a new toy for being such a good girl while we were gone!

Tuesday morning lap shopping... maybe not the best idea!
And after her nap, we finally got to go pick up our boys!!! We got there early and walked around while we waited... she didnt' stop saying, "Dada!?? LJ?? Brother??"
