December Traditions and Adventures of Mozart - 2015

I love the thought of having traditions that our kids will remember always doing at Christmas time. Here are some of the fun things we got to do throughout December this year (some already mentioned in other posts):

Decorating the Christmas Tree:
Well, this was a weird year because our big tree was in storage, but we bought new little one and had lots of fun!!

Chocolate Advent Calendars:
It has a small chocolate to open every day from December 1 through 24. My Grandma has given me one of these every single year for as long as I can remember! It is so special that she now makes sure her great-grand kids get them every year! She sends them around Thanksgiving from El Paso every year so we are able to eat our first chocolate on December 1!sd

Here is a picture from the last day- calendar done! What fun!

North Pole Caller
Last year, Aunt Kelly and Benzons gave us the North Pole Caller, which allows us a personal line to call up to the North Pole once a day from December 1-24. Sometimes an elf answers, sometimes Mrs. Claus, and sometimes Santa will talk to the kids! It's very cute!!! Here is a video of the kids calling one day!

Here are some videos of the boys calling - not the most exciting two days, but you can get the point if interested! Some days were really hilarious- They would get super into talking into the microphone, telling stories, etc.

Bath Ball Nativity Set
Aunt Kelly did another special treat for the kids this year! She gave us a set of 6 bath balls that dissolve in the tub, smell great, make the water a fun color, and best of all, a piece of the nativity scene was in each ball (which we got after it dissolved). This was a special treat the kids got every 4 or so days! It was really fun to see which piece of the nativity scene they would find! Of course, on Christmas day, we did our last ball and found baby Jesus in it! Thanks for such a fun and special gift Aunt Kelly. Here is a picture of the completed scene!

Gingerbread Houses:
Evan decorated the left side of the house, and LJ the right. Both contributed to all sides of the house and the gingerbread man! I only did the white icing and the gingerbread guy's bow-tie and suspenders! The rest was all boys!

Our Elf on the Shelf: Mozart
This is Mozart's 3rd year to join us from December 1-24 to watch over the kids and report back to Santa every night. For anyone who doesn't know or remember the 'Elf-on-the-Shelf' tradition, you can see this past blog:

I must say, this was not Mozart's most fun year! But the kids still enjoyed him! Next year maybe he will be a little crazier! Hah!

December 1: Mozart makes his usual first day appearance on our Christmas tree (although this is our smallest tree ever since our big one is packed in the Pod!).

Dec 2: Mozart was on a picture frame by the front door... the boys LOVE running down in the morning and searching for him! And then they laugh, point, and yell with excitement!
