Idaho August 2015- Part 1 of 3
We finally made it back to Idaho to visit Queenie and Grandad. They spend the summers there, and we have not been since LJ was just over 10 months old (Ellie's age now)! We have missed going and were so excited!
We had to wake all the kids up at 6:45 am to get to the airport. But they woke up excited and ready to go! I let the boys fill one green roller bag (it's from Grandma and says 'Going to Grandmas') with whatever they wanted! They picked lots of Imaginext guys, paper to color on, and blankies!
Ellie was her happy self too!
First flight was just to Dallas. Ellie and I were in one row sharing a seat, and the boys had a row to themselves!
Made it to Dallas and had about an hour to move around before our second flight. Evan insisted on rolling his bag around! Yay Evan!
The boys holding hands through the airport... so cute!!
We went in search of the play area that LJ and Uncle Joe had found in the Dallas airport last October, but never found it.... never found it, but we did find this little kids area.
Next flight was a longer one, and we had two seats in two rows across from each other. For the first hour of the flight, Evan and I sat next to each other, and Barrett sat across the aisle with LJ next to him and Ellie sleeping on him!! All the kids did so GREAT with our full morning of traveling!
Queenie and Grandad were waiting for us in Jackson Hole, and then we had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, Barrett, Grandad, Evan and Ellie headed back to the house (a 2 hour drive), while Queenie, LJ, and I went to the grocery store before heading back.
Evan and Ellie both got naps on the way home... and actually LJ took a little snooze too!
Evan and Ellie had a good hour at the house before we got there, and both had a blast!!!
Ellie had a snack and got lots of crawling in too!!
Queenie and Grandad had an amazing set up for them with a super cool log cabin tent filled with toys, and new gifts for each boy!!! Evan got to open one before LJ got there, and then they opened the gifts together!
The biggest hit was the Imaginext Batcave... HOURS of entertainment!!
When LJ got there, he was so excited too!!
Then they both got to open their gifts... LJ got 2 awesome lego sets!
And Evan got a pack of 3 costumes- Batman, Robin, and Superman!!
Easy to imagine what happened next!!!! Boys took turns being Robin - their new favorite super hero!!
A visit down to the water was a must... Ahhhhh!!!
Day 2: Tuesday
We were excited for the chilly weather when we woke up! I even got to pull out Ellie's Camo fleece (was worried she'd outgrow it before it was cold enough to wear!).
Then we had a busy morning feeding all the chipmunks with Grandad....
Then we went on a walk while Ellie napped. We had to take the 'bear bells' (just a bell you keep ringing while you walk), and this made LJ pretty nervous! Ever time I stopped for more than a few seconds, LJ would say, "MOM!! The Bells!!!" He ended up taking them from me and giving them to Barrett because I wasn't doing a good enough job!
Back at the house, Queenie had a fun rock painting craft ready for the boys! Their rocks will go next to their cousins Kate and Lauren's rocks! So cute!
Then everyone took a little nap... except LJ! He got to open and build his first lego set. Unfortunately, he got so excited when he was done, he went to wake up Queenie to show her! SO sorry Queenie!
He did build a VERY cool Batman helicopter!
This is the upstairs room Barrett, LJ, Evan and I slept in! LJ and I slept in one bed, Barrett in another, and Evan on the air mattress! Barrett and Evan would nap together every day too (as seen in picture below!).
Ellie slept in Queenie's closet! She did great there- Queenie's magical closet!!!
Ellie got up and was all over her Grandad!! They were playing a game, and she was having so much fun!!!
Ellie all dressed and ready for dinner... and making her new favorite super crinkly nose face!! Haha!
Chugging milk on the way to dinner!
We had a great dinner and got to catch up with Flory and Henry... sad a didn't get a picture of the group! But the boys did enjoy more amazing huckleberry ice cream (can't get this delicious treat in Austin!).
I love Ellie's hair ... I have got to start doing this!
"One, Two, Three... WOOD MEN!!!" Love!
A fun end to a super fun day!!! So happy we got to be here with our wonderful Queenie and Grandad!! 3 more days of adventure to come!
