Evan the 3 Year Old!
Happy birthday to our sweet little Evan- aka Batman (or Robin or Superman or a football player or some combo of these depending on the day... but most often Batman!).
A few things about Evan at three years old.... Evan:
- Speaks in very long sentences with mostly the correct tenses. His vocabulary is actually pretty impressive to me! Common phrases he says: "Well, actually I think.... " OK... well then I will ....." (when faced with a consequence)... he also has a funny face he makes when he's thinking hard about something or about to ask a question that cracks us up! He also always repeats LJ!!
- Still sleeps with 2 pacifiers in his bed. They stay in his bed (as they have since he was less than a year old), but he loves them!
- Is no where near being potty trained!!! This will be something we start really forcing soon! But he has only gone successfully in the potty a handful of times (although he says he wants to go more often! He will just sit there, and then say he did it - but nothing happened!).
- LOVES playing with his brother and friends... LOVES!! Great at imaginative play, always role-playing (Batman/Robin, Dad/Son/baby, etc), and usually gets along very well with others! LJ and Evan are best BEST buddies! LJ can convince Evan to do just about anything, and Evan will always get into it and have fun!
- Loves sports and balls... he came this way! Haha! Always ready to catch a football, kick a soccer ball, shoot a basketball, etc!
- Loves dressing up, especially wearing capes, masks, and football jerseys.
- Is able to dress himself in the morning (even pick out his own outfit- and in fact is often fully dressed when I go get him from his room), put on his own shoes, and undress himself without help.
- Is super sweet and affectionate! He will always give me a big hug and kiss, tell me he loves me, and hold my hand! I love this!!
- Loves his naps (often goes upstairs and gets in bed by himself!), and usually wakes up super happy!
- Has a precious sense of humor! He and LJ will crack each other up, and it's the most amazing sound to hear them dying laughing with each other! He loves telling 'jokes' and saying silly things to make people / LJ laugh! He also has this hilarious 'donkey' laugh thing he's been doing where he laughs, then leans his head back and laughs/ inhales loudly like a donkey! So funny!!!
- Is very VERY opinionated! He may even be a little bossy... but he's cute enough that we will stick to opinionated for now!
- Sleeps in a toddler bed- but this will change as soon as we move sometime this year. We lock him in his room because we are pretty sure he sleep walks/ talks!
- Loves reading books, and if he can reach his light, will turn it on and read until he falls asleep!
- Sings constantly!!!
- Can jump high, run fast, and climb well! He has what we think is impressive coordination :)
- Eats by himself with utensils (if provided) and can drink well out of a cup; He also picks out his own plates, bowls, forks, cups, etc, fills up his own water glass and gets his own snacks from the snack drawer or pantry! He can't open pouches alone though!
- Is a very, very slow eater! He really takes his time eating!!
- Loves watching videos, looking at pictures, or screen time in general! This will always occupy him for a long time!! He also will sneak off with my phone to start watching things!!
- Is an incredibly happy little monkey!!! We are SO blessed to know and get to hang out with his adorable little body!!!

The boys at Evan's Well-check (before the 2 shots!). I didn't tell even until the minute he was getting them, and while he was pretty upset, I thought handled it pretty well (and got over it as soon as he got his lollipop!). But he did tell me later that his shots really did hurt him :(
