Getting Ready for Baby #3 Arrival!
We are NINE days away from welcoming a new little angel into our house!! We have scheduled my C-section for October 23 at noon.
We are so excited to be surprised with the baby's gender this time around! We have never done this, and since I have to get c-sections, this adds a really special element of surprise we won't get otherwise! Barrett will tell you he is 99% sure it's a boy. And I do have to admit that, while there have been some differences in each of my pregnancies, there has not been a significant difference between this and the other two! So maybe we just make boys!? We will be so happy with whatever we have, and know that God will send us the perfect fit for our family!
We have bought very few things for this baby so far, since we feel we have most things we need. But- JUST IN CASE- I wanted to have one 'girl' outfit for the baby to come home in! The boys were excited to help me start packing my hospital bag, and laid out the two outfits I am taking for the baby (one for a boy and one for a girl) to come home in! LJ said it's going to be a brother, and re-assembled the outfit in the bobby pillow. Then he and Evan told the baby stories for a few minutes! Haha!
And we have finally started getting out baby stuff, cleaning it, and getting it set up. This includes all the clothes, the car seat, infant bath tube, swings, bouncy chair, nap nanny, play matt, and baby carriers like Ergo and Bjorn. We only bought one new piece of gear so far- the Rock and Play. This is like a mix between a bassinet and stationary swing. I have heard so many moms say this is the best thing they have used for newborns to sleep in, so we decided to try it!
The boys have been pretty excited every time something new is set out. The first day we had the swing set up, I found them rocking Jesse in there! It was really cute!!
Then they started going upstairs and getting clothes and blankets for their 'baby' (who was joined by Bullseye and Buzz in the swing before getting totally covered!). So then we had the talk about not putting ANYTHING on the baby! Oh man- we have our work cut out for us!!
This week will install car seats bases, set up the pac-n-play (where baby will probably sleep in our room for a few months), get final grocery and Costco trips done, and then try to take as many naps as possible!!
