WHPP Meet the Teachers

Friday morning was an Open House as the boys' preschool, Westlake Hills Preabyterian Preschool (WHPP). It is a time when you can go hang out in the classroom, meet their new teacher and teacher-assistant, and also meet other kids and parents that will be in their class.  The boys will be attending preschool here on MWFs from 9am to 1 pm. This is the school LJ attended last year also- and he had a great experience! In fact, he kept asking if we would get to see Ms. Janice, and was so diaapponted when I said no! But then he got very excited when I told him his friend Thomas would be in his class, and he said, "Thomas! That will be awesome! I haven't seen him in years, right mom?! I love Thomas... and Thomas loves me!" Haha! I agreed with all of it!

There was a crazy burst of rain right before we went, but it was just ending as when arrived at their school. And the rain left us a beautiful rainbow to admire quickly before heading in to the open house! The boys talked about the rainbow all day!

First we went to LJ's new class. And LJ's best friend from last year, Thomas, was already in the room playing. They were both so excited to see each other, and they got straight to playing without skipping a beat!
Evan also got busy at a water table while Barrett and I got to talk to his new teachers, Ms. Connie and Ms. Mary, and some other parents. LJ has one other friend from last year in his class, Benji. Overall, he has 11 kids in his class right now (could have up to 12), with 6 boys and 5 girls.
Then we headed down the hall to Evan's new classroom with his teachers Ms. Michelle and Ms. Illiana. Ms. Michelle is from El Paso too (although we didn't know her) - such a small world!  Her family is still there too so she said she travels there all the time (in fact was headed there for Labor Day!).

Evan warmed up to both his teachers quickly!
Evan's class has 10 students, and I think the ratio is 6 boys and 4 girls! Always more boys it seems!

I really liked both classes and sets of teachers, and I am hopeful and looking forward to another great year at WHPP!  Their first day here will be next Wednesday since Monday is Labor Day.
