Evan's 2nd Birthday

My baby is already 2! I can't believe it! He is such a precious and happy part of our family! And he has grown SO much in the last few months!

On  his birthday morning, Evan got up about 45 minutes before LJ. While we missed LJ, it was nice to have a little special quality time with Evan!
When I went to get him out of bed, I said, "Good morning Evan! Happy happy birthday! You're TWO!" And he looked at me a little distraught and said, "No! I'm not Two! I'm Evan!" Hahah! He repeated this several times!

But when we headed downstairs, he was so excited to see the balloons and gifts waiting for him on the table! And the balloon was (and still is) a huge hit- 'my number 2 balloon' as he is still calling it!! He wants to take it everywhere!

He was so busy playing with and hitting his balloons down all through out breakfast!

My favorite picture of the morning! My precious little two year old!

Our mornings are short at the house right now because we have to leave for swim by 8 am, but Evan had a great morning swimming and then at gymnastic camp! After naps, I let the boys open Evan's gifts from Queenie and Grandad.... LJ 'helped' Evan a lot with opening gifts! Thanks goodness Evan loves LJ's help!

A Blue (from Evan's favorite show, Blues Clues) and a Handy Dandy Notebook! Evan Loves them!!! He couldn't wait to start writing in his notebook!
And a new copy of Evan's favorite book, Pete the Cat, I love my White Shoes! He ripped the pages out of the last one, but still makes me read him the 5 remaining pages all the time! Now we can hear the whole story again!!
And he got this super cool magnetic white board and magnets! The boys both loved this one! This will be great for playing, practicing spelling and letters, writing, sentences, etc! So fun!!

And then LJ got to give Evan his gift! LJ has a similar magnetic pad that he loves playing with in the car, and now Evan has his own! LJ helped me pick it out a couple weeks ago and was very excited to give it to his brother!!
And as great as all these new gifts are, Evan still had to make sure his balloons were close by at all times!

Then as a final birthday treat, we headed to Chuck-E Cheese (our first visit there!) for Evan's birthday dinner! Kelly, Kate and Lauren were able to join us, and they all had a fabulous time!!

A quick birthday song, and then cake balls for dessert!

LJ's new Chuck E Cheese Whistle prize (they won a lot of tickets!!)!
Sweet card from his cousins!

This place was a huge success- the boys loved it (no one was afraid of the mouse!), and we will definitely have to head back there soon!

I hope Evan had a wonderful day - I think he did and know I did! Now to prepare for his party!!
