Champions Gymnastic Camp: International Spy Kids

We signed them up for Champions Gymnastic's International Spy Kids Camp, which lasted 5 days from 9-1 pm.   This was LJ's second 'summer camp' for the year- and Evan's first EVER! Kids are supposed to be 2 years old to enter the camp, but since Evan's 2nd birthday was in the middle of the week of camp, they made an exception! So he was literally THE youngest kid at the entire camp this week! Although this was the first time I have ever dropped Evan off for this amount of time (only done 1-2 hour stents at the gym and church), but he did GREAT! And after melt downs from LJ a few weeks ago at drop off, he also did great! He only cried when I left one day, and he got over it quickly. I think it helped to be dropping Evan off too, and every day LJ would go with me to 'help Evan' get settled in his room first!

LJ saying bye to Evan before we head upstairs to his room.
Evan always got right to playing at drop off (never looking back), and I usually found him on someone's lap when I came to pick him up! He won over all the young counselor girls!
LJ sporting the visor he made in camp one day at pick up!
Came a little early to pick the boys up one day, and thought I'd sit upstairs to watch.  Evan's class was doing open floor/ bars, and I caught a quick picture of him on the bars before he spotted me. BUT when he did spot me, he first got excited and yelled, "Mommy!! There's my mommy!!" When I didn't come downstairs and he couldn't get to me, he started crying so hard! It was so sad! So I raced down stairs, and Evan ended up finishing a little early that day (he would not leave my arms to got back to his class!).

Friday was the Pep Rally where we get to watch them perform... I was so excited to see both my boys in action!!

And the exciting news- Gigi was in town for Evan's birthday, so she got to join us! Boys were happy to show off for her too!
And as promised, we let the boys celebrate a great week at camp with their friends by walking over to  Amy's Ice Cream after the Pep rally! LJ remembered this from last camp and asked about it starting the first day of camp!
He knew exactly which toppings he would be getting on his ice cream this time!

Gigi sharing flying videos with the boys!

WARNING: These videos are a little long, and it's not easy to spot them! But watch if you want--it does give an idea of what they have been working on this week!!

Evan's class was called the Sailboats, and his 'cheer' in the Pep rally is below. He is on the far right. Also, his friend Kate McDonnell is in the center! He doesn't sing much, but he and LJ have been doing this cheer non-stop at the house! It is really cute!

Here is LJ's 'cheer'. His class was called the Flippers! He practiced this cheer starting Monday, and was so excited that we would be there to watch him perform it! LJ is in the back center, standing next to a teacher. As usual, he doesn't sing or do the motions nearly as well there as he did for me at home- but it's still cute! His friends Ben and Piper are also in his class!

Both boys are wearing navy blue (dark) shorts with their white Champions shirts.
First look to the back mat (left screen) and LJ is doing a 'cartwheel' followed by a summersault down the inclined mat (further back/left) a few seconds later. Then you can see Evan on the balance beam towards the right of the screen. He doesn't have his best performance! He actually falls trying to do his summersault- but he is not phased!
