WHPP Meet the Teachers

Image
Friday morning was an Open House as the boys' preschool, Westlake Hills Preabyterian Preschool (WHPP). It is a time when you can go hang out in the classroom, meet their new teacher and teacher-assistant, and also meet other kids and parents that will be in their class.  The boys will be attending preschool here on MWFs from 9am to 1 pm. This is the school LJ attended last year also- and he had a great experience! In fact, he kept asking if we would get to see Ms. Janice, and was so diaapponted when I said no! But then he got very excited when I told him his friend Thomas would be in his class, and he said, "Thomas! That will be awesome! I haven't seen him in years, right mom?! I love Thomas... and Thomas loves me!" Haha! I agreed with all of it!  There was a crazy burst of rain right before we went, but it was just ending as when arrived at their school. And the rain left us a beautiful rainbow to admire quickly before heading in to the open house! The b...

ISR Weeks 4-6

Image
Well we did it! Six week of ISR lessons complete! I am so happy with the progress the boys have made in ISR! It has been a big commitment to get here every morning for six weeks, but I am so glad we did it! By week 4, both boys could float on their own! Evan was still working on holding his float and rolling out of it, but LJ LOVES floating and is doing full swim/ float/ swim combos!  Here are a few pics from the last weeks of Tiffany working with the boys on floats and roll-overs. Of the 6 weeks, the boys only missed swimming 2 days each- pretty good!          LJ can float for so long!!       Week 6: Evan is very good at floating, although he usually gets to the float position the harder way (flips over instead of just rolling).  And his swims have more direction. If you launch him towards the steps, he will also swim well to them and get on safely. http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=q9hk-fLONSo LJ...

Randoms from August 2014

Here are all the random pictures from the month that didn't make their own post!!  LJ has been very into taking his own bag of toys and 'necessities' when we go run errands! He fills up his backpack all by himself and takes it along!  Evan received a Ninja turtle play figure (small) and truck for his birthday, and LJ has been totally obsessed with Ninja turtles ever since!  He has also decided that he wants his birthday party to be Ninja Turtles!  Boys playing with some new toys- including Evan's Ninja Turtle truck (which is really in LJ's procession at all times!) Every time I run to target, I lose LJ in the toy isle (and usually find him like this- in some sort of mask or with a sword he found!). Although, the cape is from home- he has been wearing this out a lot lately!!  Evan, on the other hand, usually finds a ball to entertain himself!  Lunch and playing at Whole Foods one day...  They were play...
