Sick Evan

Poor Evan woke up on Friday with a fever of 100.5, so we had to skip the gym and have a morning of crafts at the house.

And playing in a new sand box from Gigi! Thanks Gigi- they loved it (until they wouldn't share all the parts and had it taken away!).
Saturday Evan woke up with a fever of 99.9. But he was in a good mood, and the fever was gone without any medicine by 11 am! We still took it pretty easy though!
The boys cheers-ing their popsicles on the porch!

LJ LOVES this picture of his red tongue!
Evan does everything LJ does! Trying to show his purple tongue too!

Sunday morning (Mother's Day), we were still fever free - got to over 24 hours with a happy Evan! We still took it easy though- went for a walk and then headed to the mall for some strolling, shopping, and lunch!
BUT then poor Evan woke up from his nap with a bad relapse :(  He had a fever of 100.9, and looked miserable! At dinner, he seemed to be getting worse and started asking to go to sleep around 6:45 (we usually go to bed around 7:30!). So we skipped bath and got him into bed. I took his temperature again before bed (and 2 hours after giving him Tylenol), and it had gone UP to 102.5!!! One of the highest Evan has ever had! Poor baby! Woke him up an hour later for some ibuprofen, and he finally cooled off.
Even though Evan woke up on Monday happy again and fever free, I decided to get him to the doctor just to make sure I wasn't missing something. He was as happy as could be in the waiting room- rocking on horses, playing with LJ, etc...
But as soon as we walked back to the patient room, he started crying so hard! I guess he remembers the doctor's office! He was crying so hard and being so dramatic! I would get him all calmed down when it was just us in the room, he'd be playing and laughing with LJ, and then the doctor or nurse would come in, and he would start screaming and crying so loudly I could barely talk to them! Drama!!
Evan laughing and happy with stickers....

And then someone would come in!
LJ was such a great helper! He was trying to make Evan happy and self -entertained when needed!

Doctor did a thorough check and found Evan's chest sounded fine, and ears, throat, and body all looked good. So she decided to get a blood test and found that he had an elevated level white blood cell count (19,000 when under 10,000 is normal). So she wanted to get an X-ray of his chest to check for pneumonia. This was also traumatic as I could not be with him during X-ray due to pregnancy! He was SCREAMING "Mama!! Mama!!" throughout! Only about 3 minutes I wasn't with him, but they were a long 3 minutes for both of us!

LJ was very excited to see 'Evan's bones and even his teeth' in the X-ray! And turns out he was clear of pneumonia, but probably has a case of bronchitis. He is on antibiotics now, and back to his happy self! Thank God!

The three of us had a little lunch date at Subway while waiting for his prescription. Apparently these boys LOVE Cheetos!
