Las Vegas .... and a day we will NEVER forget!!

Barrett had a work function in Las Vegas the last week in February, and we were able to go a day earlier to make a little mini get-away of it!  I was supposed to be gone only 1 day, but we were having so much fun that I ended up extending my trip to make it exactly 48 hours that I was out of town.

Our nanny, Karinna, watched the boys while we were away, but she couldn't come over until late afternoon. So Queenie saved us and took care of the boys for a few hours before Karinna could get there so we could get to the airport! The boys were so excited to have Queenie over to play!!

Meanwhile in Vegas, Barrett and I had a fabulous dinner and then got to see the new Cirque du Soleil show, Michael Jackson One. It was very entertaining!

The next day (February 25) was beautiful in Vegas, and we had a fabulous day walking around, playing blackjack,  betting on horse races, shopping, and more! It was a day we will never forget!!

And now I will elaborate on a huge reason that we will NEVER forget this day in Vegas!

With plans to go out and drink for another night with my husband, I realized I needed to find a pregnancy test in order to relax! I did NOT think I was pregnant, but wanted a test for peace of mind while we enjoyed some wine!

Ironically, while they have every thing you can imagine in hotel gift stores, a pregnancy test must be the one thing no one wants to buy! So Barrett and I made a plan to walk to some other hotels and casinos (we had horse betting at Caesar's Palace in mind), and to stop at a drug store on the way.

We came across a CVS and found one...Then continued on our way to Caesar's Palace.

I sent this picture to my Uncle Albert- he and Barrett have spent a lot of time at these tables bonding!
After betting on a few horse races, I ran into the bathroom to get my peace of mind! That bathroom at Caesars palace (which is pretty ironic with my family's history there- we are convinced my dad lead us there to enjoy the moment with us!) forever changed our lives...

I took the test, but it takes a few minutes to read the result. So I just put it back in my purse and went to go find Barrett. When I got to him, he asked, "Well? What did it say?!" So I grabbed it from my purse and said, "Here, why don't you look!" I had not looked at it yet, but felt certain it was negative. And he has never looked at a test result before me, so that was kind of funny to me...
His face just dropped, and I said, "Yeah right! I know it's negative!" He shook his head and handed the test to me... AHHHHHH!!!
So after a good cry and lots of hugging right in the middle of Caesar's Palace, two shocked, excited, soon-to-be 3rd time parents went to enjoy the rest of the day in Vegas! What a crazy and surreal day for us!!  Could not be more thankful I stayed an extra day and got to find out this news with Barrett!

Heading back to our hotel, Mandalay Bay, after a fun and incredibly full day! Thanks for letting me join you Barrett- you are the BEST husband ever!
