Well Checks for the boys

(This post is a week late!)

I took both the boys to the doctor today for well checks... Evan needed his 12 month well-check, and LJ never had a 2 1/2 year check up because he was fighting ear infections around that time (was never well enough).  We saw another new doctor since we are looking for one we love closer to our new house.  We saw Dr Elena Ruiz at Bee Caves Pediatric... she seems very nice and good- will see!

Evan's 12 month stats:
Weight  21 lbs 7 oz (49%)
Height   29 1/2 inches (42%)
Head circumference   47 cm (79%)

For comparison, LJ at 12 months:
Weight   22 lbs 9.6 oz  (50%)
Height   30 in (50%)
Head Circumference 48 cm (80%)

Poor Evan got 5 pokes :(  He got a TB test in his arm, chicken pox and Hep A vaccines in one leg, and MMR and Flu shot in other leg. Tough day! But he handled it really well considering. He cried while it was happening (worst feeling as a parent to hold them down while this is happening)... but as soon as it was over, I picked him up and he was okay. Poor baby!
The rest of Evan's well check went well- development on track!

LJ's 34 month stats:
Weight 34 lbs 13 oz  (84%)
Height   38 in (68%)
Head Circumference   52 cm (94%)

While LJ has seemed well, I think the last week has worn him out! He has been sleeping so much (they both actually slept until after 9:30 am on Monday- and they usually get up around 7:30 am!), and he has had a runny nose and mentioned his stomach hurting a few times. Then the doctor realized that he had fluid in both ears, and his left one looks pretty close to infection. I was very sad to hear this... we are going to make an appointment with an ENT as soon as possible to get a second opinion. I really just want to establish a relationship with an ENT now so that if we have another very hard (and fluid filled) winter, we will have a specialist on board to help us.
Otherwise, LJ is doing great!
