LJ's Preschools' Open Houses

LJ will be attending two schools this fall- in the 2's Preschool class at both, and both of them had their 'Meet the Teachers' open house events today.

We started the morning at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Preschool (WHPP), where LJ will be going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. His teachers seem wonderful, I love the room, and it is literally 3 minutes from our house! In fact, there is a wall of windows, and the view from the windows is of the same canyon you see from our house, just from the other side!

His teacher, Ms. Janice, is originally from Scotland, has a great accent, and as Barrett said, if you close your eyes, it feels just like you are in the room with Mrs. Doubtfire! I can't wait to hear the funny things LJ repeats from her! And she has had the same assistant for 5 years, Ms. Mary Cay, who also seems wonderful. He will be in a class with 10 kids (6 boys including LJ and 4 girls).

Evan enjoyed playing with the trains while LJ met a few of his new classmates and teachers.

Later that evening , we headed to St. David's Day School (SDDS) where LJ will be in school on Mondays and Wednesdays. He went to a 3 week camp here over the summer so he already has gotten to spend time with many of his classmates and his teacher, Ms. Ashley. He really liked Ms. Ashley, and in fact when we pulled up, he said "Look mom, we are at Ms. Ashley's school! Can I see her?"  The assistant, Ms. Angela, seems very good also, and they are in a much bigger and brighter room than over the summer, so I am very excited about that!  He will be in a room with 12 other students, but I am probably the most excited about the fact that LJ will be joining Eagle Jr and Ben here (they came last year and will be here 4 days a week- and sorry his friend Piper will not be here anymore!).
LJ and Eagle Jr playing in their new classroom... don't think anyone is going to care that parents leave!
Discussing who is going to get which color bears... very serious business!
Dads at SDDS ' Back to School Night'
Brothers playing at the play dough table... until Evan took a big bite!

The classmates- Ben, Eagle Jr, and LJ
We had plans to go eat with everyone afterwards, but LJ obviously got hungry before we left! He made himself a plate of food, sat down, and bit into everything on his plate! Poor guy! Guess it's time to go get dinner!

Well, it may be a slightly elaborate plan this year with LJ going to 2 schools, but I have a lot of reasons for this (that I will not bore everyone with here). BUT I will say, Barrett and I went to both schools today and spent at least an hour at each.  We feel very good about both and excited for LJ to have the opportunity to do this. I hope he has a wonderful year, learns a lot, and has so much fun doing so!
First day of school is next Tuesday :)
