Barrett and I in New York

Warning- no kid pictures in this post!!

Barrett had business in New York this week, and he let me tag along so we could get a little trip out of it! Although very short, it was so wonderful to get some extra alone time with my amazing husband!! And while I absolutely LOVE my life and days with my boys, it was so nice to have one whole day with absolutely no one to worry about but myself!

We arrived on Tuesday afternoon with just enough time to check in to our hotel, freshen up a little, and then head out to a nearby bar for a business happy hour meeting. Afterwards, Barrett surprised me with reservations at a fancy sushi restaurant (my favorite food and not his- so a big treat for me!). Then on to a Broadway show, "The Book of Mormon." We liked the show (although not my favorite), and had a fantastic evening! Wednesday Barrett had to work all day so I thought I would be on my own- but early in the morning I got a text from one of my best friends, Sara, saying she had taken the red eye flight back to New York early and landed at 7 am! I hadn't seen her in over a ear so was beside my self with excitement! I got in a quick work out and shower, then grabbed a cab over to her apparent. It was so fun for me to see her place- how people live in New York- and spend the day in her neighborhood in East Village. And I finally got to meet her precious dog Thor!

Getting a coffee - made us miss OUR Bean!

Mani/pedis (smallest nail salon I have ever been in! But cheaper to get a mani/pedi here than just a pedi in Austin!).
Had to go a fun blue- I'm in New York afterall!

Lunch in another tiny but delicious restaurant!

After a little shopping, we went back to Sara's apartment to get Thor and take him on a walk. This was his first day in New York and he had a lot to take in!

Saying good-bye to Thor :(

Then Sara and I went back to the hotel to meet Barrett for a drink before our dinner reservation. Was so nice getting to see Sara, meet Thor, see another side of New York! Thanks for such a great day!

B and I had another nice dinner at a restaurant called Aureole...

and then headed to another broadway show (boy am I spoiled!). We saw "First Date," and we really liked this one! We actually both liked this one more than Book of Mormon (more our humor I think!)- thanks for the recommendation Queenie!! We had great seats for both shows, but they were amazing for the second show- 4th row center!! Think the best seats I've ever had for a Broadway show!

Thursday went quickly, but we did get a nice walk through Central Park (which was basically across from our hotel), breakfast at a local cafe, and then we were off to the airport- so excited to get home and hug our boys and dogs!!
