Fourth of July

We had such a great Fourth of July!! Our friends had a joint party planned where we got to go to the Robinsons' house to watch the Rollingwood Parade (which passes right in front of their house) and then on to the McDonnells' for swimming and grilling. Then last minute, we decided to put the cousins in the parade - Kate and Lauren pulling Eagle Jr and LJ in wagons. So celebrating the "4th" actually began on the 3rd for us- when we went to Aunt Funny's house to decorate the boys' wagons for the Rollingwood Parade (the neighborhood the Robinsons live in).
Cousins eating their pizza on the steps together- so cute!  They did this all on their own...

Decorating!
All done- time to practice... Kate will be pulling Eagle Jr and Lauren will be pulling LJ

He is pretty exciting about this whole thing!
On the 4th, we went straight to the Robinson's house (poor Evan had to get woken up to go). We had breakfast there (thanks for the great breakfast tacos Laura!), and then the boys got loaded up in their wagons and headed to the start line. Aunt Kelly and Uncle Dan walked with Kate and Lauren - who were each pulling a wagon!

And they're off!!

Sang and Kate- her head band was too cute!
I didn't trust Evan to not try to crawl right out of the wagon- so he didn't get to be in the parade this year! Maybe next year! He happy to stay and crawl around the yard though!

Getting set up to watch the parade go by ...

Here it comes!!!! yay!

The Edwards were in the parade too!
And here come our family!! Yay! Everyone did great!

Not sure how many blue dumdums LJ ate while waiting for the parade to start!

After the parade / hanging out a little, we headed over to the McDonnell's house (about a 2 min drive) for more celebrating! Barrett decided this was a good time (safe short drive) to let LJ have his first experience sitting in the drivers seat with him. I think Barrett was more excited than LJ! He was interested for about a minute, then wanted to eat, play with the stereo, etc!

Waving ..
Time to swim!!

Precious little cousins! Locke (7 months today!) and Evan

LJ and Eagle sliding- and 'catching' each other

After amazing naps from both boys, Joe and his friends Angie, her brother Will, and her son Lake came over. After more swimming, we put all the boys to bed and hoped for a good fireworks show from our house. We saw about 12 shows, but not one of them was very good (too far away, wrong angle, etc). Still a great night catching up though! (And then 2 nights later, we saw Barton Creeks' firework show, and we realized we have the most amazing view of the show from our firepit. We will definitely be inviting people from the show next year).
