LJ's 1st Day of School
Today was LJ's first day of school - well Kids Day Out (KDO) - at Oak Hills United Methodist Church. We went to a 'Meet the Teachers/Orientation' last week where we took LJ for 2 hours but got to stay with him, and he had a great time. But today, we just dropped him off... and he did great!!
He started playing with the train table as soon as he walked in the room and never looked back. But then the teachers said we should always say bye to him (I usually sneak away at the gym or church when I drop him off). But when I said bye, he started crying a little and clinging to me. I just told him I loved him, would be back soon and left. Teacher said by the time we were out the door he was over it! And he did great! I hope he continues to enjoy it and has a wonderful first year at school!
He will be going to KDO on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 am- 1pm. This week they are only doing half days to let the kids ease into it, so he is only there from 9 am - 11 am. There are 10 students in his class (8 of whom will be 2 years old before December so very close to LJ's age) and two teachers, Ms. Rita and Ms. Dianne.
