El Paso Falcon's Sports Camp, Summer 2016
Monday morning of the second week in El Paso, boys got into a sports camp at St. Matthews Catholic Church. They were so excited to go, and it was the perfect thing to keep them busy and active while we were visiting! Their friend Nico was in the camp too, and Evan was probably the youngest kid. They were supposed to be 4- but since Evan has an August birthday, the coach let him in (although this took two trips to the school to make happen- it was worth it!). They went Monday through Friday morning, from 8 am to 12 pm.
Day 1 Pick up: We found some happy, hot, and worn out boys! Success!!
Day 2: Evan INSISTED on getting his promised camp shirt (the coach told us he kept asking about it)- and once he had it, he insisted on wearing it for the rest of the week!! I had to sneak it out of his room one night while he was asleep to wash it because he refused to take it off during the days (and it was getting pretty dirty!)!
Day 3: I drove by after dropping them off one day and got a picture of them playing in the field! Evan is in the yellow shirt and red shorts in center of picture...
At pick up, Evan was not out on the field playing with everyone. I finally found him in the portable. He had discovered the huge 'juice' dispenser, and showed me how he just had to push the button to get as much juice as he wanted!!
Of course, the 'juice' he was referring to was pretty awful sugar water! I saw the bottles next to the dispenser... 0% Juice! Haha!
Thursday drop off: On Wednesday the boys informed me that I did NOT need to walk them to the portable, and in fact, I should not go any further than the ramp leading up to the door! So I would stop short and watch them until they got into the portable. I loved hearing the Coach say good morning to them- he was fantastic with them!
Ellie told each brother to grab her hand!
Friday: Pick up the last day- I had to get a picture of the boys with their buddy, Nico. He is the reason we knew about this camp, and the boys really loved it!!! So glad they got to spend time together!
What fun mornings the boys had this week! So glad we got them into that camp!
