Let the Birthday Celebrating begin!
LJ had his first celebration for his 3rd birthday today at WHPP. He usually gets out of school at 1, so they told me to come around noon so I could be there when they have Chapel, then eat lunch with him and read his favorite story to the class, and finally sing to him and have cupcakes!
Best part... Queenie surprised him and joined me! He was so excited to see her (the running hug!)
Funny side note: another boy in LJ's class ran right behind him and gave Queenie a big hug too!! It was so cute!
The he got to put on a crown he made for his birthday...
Showing Queenie everything he drew on it (pointing out the big snake in the picture below!)...
We got to watch LJ and his class in chapel - I was happy to see what this is like!
LJ got to stand up with Ms. Libby while we sang to to him. Then he got to put 3 pennies (one for each year) into her wish jar! LJ liked this!
LJ kept looking at and running over to Queenie- wanted to make sure she didn't leave!
She also asked LJ what he could do to help mom now that he is 3 years old. LJ's answer: I can help her pick a pumpkin for Halloween! Not sure where he comes up with his answers, but it was very cute!!
The kids all sat pretty still and listened to Ms. Libby sing and then tell the story of Noah and the Ark!
After chapel, we went back to LJ's class room for lunch...
LJ didn't eat much of his lunch because he spotted his cupcakes and that's all he wanted! Then I when I told him he had to wait until after we sang to him to eat one, he started crying! I think (hope) he was tired and acting not himself after all the attention- but he was not my cute LJ during lunch :( But nothing a cupcake couldn't cure!
And then right as we were about to leave for the day, we got one more surprise... Barrett showed up!!!
Running up and down the ramp for about 10 minutes while we talked... can we say sugar high?!!
Very special day- and thank you so so much for being there Queenie!!! More celebrating to come!
