Date night!

Barrett and I do our very best to go on a date night most weeks, and about 75% of the time we go to dinner and a movie! We love movies- and that is one thing we can't do with the boys. But we do try to do other things from time to time (in the last few months we have done a double dinner date, gone to a high school football game, and most recently - kayaking!).

I had not been kayaking since summer camp almost 20 years ago, and Barrett had never been. I had been asking him to go for a while, so as an early birthday surprise, he made us reservations at Live, Love, Paddle. We had such a fun time, the weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, and the conversation was perfect!

Taking off...

We paddled about an hour down to the Congress bridge.  The water was like glass... I loved the reflection on the buildings on the water (my iPhone pics don't do it justice).

We hung out under the bridge and watched the OVER 1 Million bats come out for their dinner. It was an amazing sight; we watched for over 30 minutes and they were still piling out in masses. The owner of the kayaking place gave us a little 'tour' at the bridge with lots of information on the bats, bridge, down town Austin! We knew some of it, but learned a lot (which I always love!).

It was such a wonderful date night- thank you my amazing husband! Just what I wanted for my birthday... You are the greatest!  And I can't wait to take the boys with us some day!
