LJ Potty Training Update
I am happy to report that we have finally made a huge break through with potty training for LJ!
Three weeks ago, I started by doing 2 things: keeping LJ pants-free while at the house and rewarding him with M&Ms when he successfully goes to the potty.... and he began going to his little potty all my him self every time he had to pee pee! I still had an accident as soon as he had undies on, but I think the week helped him grasp the feeling of 'having to pee' before he did it.
Then next week, he started school on Tuesday, and his teacher actually told me that she thinks he is ready and to send him in undies! Apparently he stayed dry, went pee pee with everyone on the potty, and told her when he had to go! So, I thought, if they are willing, so am I! I sent him to school the next 2 days in undies, and he didn't have an accident either day! Yay! Since last Friday (for a week now), we have been out and about most days (few exceptions here and there) in undies! And we have only had one accident- yesterday when I picked him up at school he had gone in his undies and no one noticed. Not sure why it happened... but as soon as we got home, he asked me to change his undies so at least he was uncomfortable. But he now tells me before he has to go if we are out (at HEB, at Family Fun Night, at dinner, etc) or will just go sit on the potty by himself if we are at home.
So so proud of our little LJ... he managed to finally 'get it' before 3 years old! Yay! Not even attempting to get rid of nap-time or night-time diapers for a while, but happy with our progress!
This is how I often find LJ... has to go potty so goes! He will usually yell "Mama! I am going PEE PEE!! Come see!!" And he often sings or reads while on there too!
And he always asks for his M&M when he is done... he earned it! Funny thing is Barrett was apparently the same way- potty training took M&Ms... yet another way this little guy is just like his dad!
