Evan is 9 Months




What a busy month it has been for our little EWok!!
He started checking off milestones right after turning 8 months so it has been very exciting over here!

  • Started signing (4-14)! First sign was 'More' - wanting more food , Second sign 'milk',  Third sign was 'Dada' ... Although they don't look perfect, he is attempting, and we are proud!
  • Rolls over from back to tummy, especially/ mostly when in his crib... - Started sleeping on his tummy (4-16) ...which helped him start sleeping better
  • Loves standing while holding on to something (ottoman/ toy). Will stand for a long time and sometimes takes small steps (cruising) while holding on
  • Clapping- a lot! He loves clapping and will clap with you whenever you clap
  • Pincher- grip/ feeding himself finger foods (5-2): first time was at Jason's Deli 
  • And very exciting for mama- he has started sleeping through the night much more often! Got a whole week in a row of over 11 hours a night right at the end of his 8th month...YAY! 
  • Taking 2 naps a day- and getting a more regular schedule. Usually his morning nap is shorter 40 mins-1 hour) and his afternoon nap is longer, average of 2 hrs. He goes down very easily and wakes up happy!! 
  • Eating 4-5 bottles a day for a total of 24-30 oz and 2-3 meals


Poor patient Evan! 
This is a pretty rare moment for our Ewok... Evan does not cry unless something is really bothering him- and it's usually easy to remedy... Mad at me for forcing a crawl stance here... poor baby!  He really is the happiest little guy all the time!

LJ Swimming

LJ has made some big improvements in his swimming these last few weeks.  We are so excited and proud of him. Trampoline Park

Went back to Trampoline Park on Sunday... LJ has gotten so much better and more confident - guess all the practice time on his little trampoline is paying off! Still so much fun for Dad...  And the Mamas finally get in on all the fun!  Last time we went I was VERY pregnant and couldn't jump... but not this time! I see a frequent Sunday family outing in our future! A little sliding time... And video gaming! Too much fun!!

LJ Loses his first Teeth!

LJ's two bottom teeth were definitely loose. He had been wiggling them for MONTHS and insisting they were about to come out! While we were in El Paso in June, one of them got really loose, and he even begged us to just pull it out or take him to a dentist!! Hah!!  And I actually tried, but I couldn't get a good grip on it. Then when we looked up ways to pull teeth (like the well known string on a door handle), the overwhelming recommendation was NOT to do it!! Apparently this could cause a tooth to come out too soon and lead to infection! Who knew! So he had to wait!!  That said, he tooth was getting so loose, it was leaning sideways in his mouth!! It almost looked like it had come out sometimes because it wasn't sitting so funny! Then on July 3, as I was brushing his teeth before bed (sometimes I make him let me do it so I can be sure they are getting a good brushing), I literally brushed his tooth sideways!! Ah!!!
