Scott and Gely's Wedding- Acapulco
Barrett and I got to enjoy our first several-day escape together since having Ellie for Scott and Gely's wedding in Acapulco! Scott was Barrett's Best Man in our wedding, and had it been anyone else, we may not have gone! Acapulco is very dangerous right now! But this ended up being to our advantage in that we actually felt very safe the entire time... AND the prices were not nearly as bad as they could've been! We stayed at an absolutely breath-taking resort and had such a fabulous time catching up with so many of our friends!!
We arrived on Friday early afternoon and were handed some refreshing water and fun necklace!
The view from the lobby was incredible!!
Every room at this resort had it's own private wood-gate entrance, private heated pool, patio, outdoor sitting area with hammock, and then awesome room! After entering our private gate, you would walk down stairs to our room. Here is the view of our private pool and sitting area from the stairs.
And this is just ours!!
We changed quickly into our bathing suits and headed to the pool to meet up with our friends. Ahhhhh!!!
The rehearsal dinner was that night, and we had a great time seeing everyone else! Around 10 couples were staying at the same resort as us, and many of the other guests were staying at 1 or 2 other hotels. This is a picture of the group from our hotel before heading to the rehearsal dinner!
We spent the majority of the day Saturday at the pool... it was so fun to just relax and catch up!!
Just the boys!
Then we got ready for the wedding!! Had to get a picture before heading out!
The wedding was on the ocean ...
And we were surprised with a fun fireworks show after the ceremony!!!
Fireworks reflecting on the ocean water... love it!
And then it was time to dance, eat, dance, and dance some more! This was my first VERY Mexican wedding! The first bus back to our hotel didn't come to pick us up until 3 am!!! B and I were on it! Wedding 'festivities' were going on until 10 am! But we had a blast while we were there! They passed out fun hats, glasses, and other costumes to keep the party going!
Sunday, we relaxed and recovered in our private area for a while, and then we joined our friends at the pool again.
I had to stop and take a picture when I saw how beautiful this sunset was!
Our last morning ... not enough time for the big pool, so I enjoyed our little private one!
Breakfast on our private patio!
Good-bye Acapulco! We had a blast!
Meanwhile, back in Austin, the kids had a great weekend (and we are beyond thankful to all that made it possible!!!).
I am so thankful our nanny, Jaime, for sending us lots of updates and pictures!
Friday we left before the kids woke up, so this was the first time we saw them on Friday... Happy campers!
Good morning boys!!! I needed these!
Saturday morning...
Saturday Queenie and Grandad picked all three kiddos up for lunch at Vivo! Yay!!!
Saturday afternoon, my sweet cousin picked the boys up for ice cream and a trip to the toy store! Spoiled!! They LOVE their Aunt Alexa!
Sunday night the McDonnells were so sweet to meet Jaime and the kids at Hat Creek for dinner/ playing!
Precious monkeys!
Monday the boys had school in the morning, and I know they got a Juiceland treat after rest time with Jaime!
Kids were asleep by the time we got home, but I couldn't wait for them to wake up on Tuesday morning! They immediately started showing me their new favorite toy from Aunt Alexa, and told me all about their adventures!
Nothing better when I am away from the kids than receiving pictures of them having fun!! Thanks so much to all who sent!!! We had a blast in Mexico, but so happy to be home with my babies!!!
