Ellie is 16 Months!

Our sweet little princess has had a busy few months! I started to write a blog about her being 15 months, and then the month got away from me! But I must say, I am a little glad I waited since many things happened in the last 30 days!!

And her well check was scheduled for 2 weeks after her 15 month birthday. She got sick right before her well check so we had to post-pone it!

Here are her 15 (and 1/2) month stats:
Weight: 24 lbs 10 oz ........................75-90%
Height: 31 in....................................50-75%
Head circumference: 45.6 cm..............50%

The boys' stats are below to compare. So Ellie weights more, is in the middle for height, and has the smallest head! BUT she was also 2 weeks older than the boys when they got theirs done!

Evan:
Weight  24 lbs, 3 oz  (45%)
Height   30 in (17%)
Head Circumference  47 cm (44%)

LJ:
Weight   25lbs 8oz (75%)
Height   32 in long (75%)
Head circumference   49cm (90-95%) ....

Milestones

Talking:
At 15 months, Ellie had about 10 words, and really not many more than she had at a year! But the last month, she has really started to try to say many more words! She now says 'Bella' super-clear and all day! She loves Bella, and thinks all dogs are both, "Dog" and "Bella"! Some other words we hear often include: Hi, Dada, Mama, bye, more, ball, car, milk, please, good, bath-time, shoes, boots, etc. We have also heard her attempt to say: Good, Grandad (sounds like dad-dad), LJ, Evan, brother, and I swear I heard her try to sing 'Happy birthday to you'! She is finally starting to repeat things I ask her to say... Yay! I love hearing her precious voice!

Movement:
She is a great walker, and is almost running a lot of the time! She climbs up stairs on her hands and knees very well, and she insists on going down stairs on her feet (vs her bottom or tummy)- scary but she does it well. She holds on to the bars of the stairs, and slowly maneuvers down. Or she will hold someone's hands up or down the stairs.

Attitude:
She is still such an incredibly happy, loving, cuddle-bug and sweet girl!!! She loves giving hugs and kisses! If she is up when Barrett heads to work, she runs over to him and lifts her arms up wanting her good-bye kiss and hug. She LOVES her dad! If she hers as little as a cough from our room, she runs back to our room and gets in his lap! There is NO question who her favorite is-- Daddy's girl already!
While she is still super sweet, she has gotten a LOT more opinionated and, well, difficult! She is not so happy sitting in a high chair at a restaurant for very long, and she is often pretty awful while driving in the car! The basically just yells at us!! The boys both loved car rides, so this has been a hard one for me!! She fusses, screams, whines, cries, throws things... it's pretty rough! She is very demanding!!! But if you sing to her or turn around and give her attention, she is better. I think she is just attention- spoiled (easy with 2 brothers always entertaining you I guess?!).
Also, she still loves going to the gym or church and rarely ever fusses there!

Health:
Ellie has had a rough couple of months with being sick! She had an ear infection the first week of December, then a tummy bug the last week of December, then mid-January she got Croup as a result of brochiolitis (not sure where she picked this up!), another ear infection end of January, and then ANOTHER one right now (diagnosed Feb 21). POOR ELLIE!!! We have been to the doctor so much, and I absolutely hate it! The doctor said if she gets one more ear infection in the next couple months, we will need to go discuss tubes with an ENT. :(

Teeth:
The 'Surprise Baby' (as Sang calls her- which I love because it's so true!), continues to surprise us!!!  At 15 months, Ellie still only had her two middle bottom teeth. But one day this month, I noticed that her bottom right molar was out! WHAT!?! I have heard of babies getting teeth out of order- but never known any that actually did (and especially that out of order- she skipped 6 teeth!!). And soon after her right top molar started popping out! So as of 16 months, she has 4 teeth- the bottom 2 middle and the two right molars! I wonder which will be next!

Favorite foods:
This girl loves to eat, although she is getting pretty opinionated about what she eats! Her favorite foods (that she will almost always eat) include raspberries, veggie straws, cottage cheese, and gold fish. She eats anything and everything we eat- unless it's too hard to eat without teeth (like nuts!). She also knows how to go get her own snack cup from the cabinet and will fill it with a snack from the pantry (veggie straws or whatever is in her reach)! She learns a lot from her brothers!!

Favorite things:
Going outside (this is probably her very favorite), sliding down slides, playing with balls, reading books, and playing with her dolls (pushing them around in shopping carts or strollers). She loves getting out of the house and going on outings! In fact, is she is home too long, she will bring you her shoes (or try to put them on herself) and start pointing and yelling at the door! I'm telling you- demanding!
