Dentist Appointments - Evan's First and LJ's semi-annual
Both boys had a dentist appointment today!
LJ has been before and done well. This was Evan's first appointment, and I was a little nervous how he'd do because he wouldn't even sit in the chair last time we were here for LJ! But to my surprise, they both did amazingly!!!
LJ went first, got right into the chair, laid back, followed instructions, opened wide, never complained, and just did great! A dentist went to his school a couple weeks ago, so I must thank them for his co-operation- and dare I say excitement -in having his teeth cleaned! LJ now has all 20 of his baby teeth, and they look good! He is doing a good job cleaning them, but we will need to work on flossing the back teeth a little better! No signs of any cavities or any issues so far.
Evan was next, and not quite as excited! He would not sit in the chair without me, so I let him just sit on my lap the entire time his teeth got cleaned. But he actually did well for the full cleaning and flossing too! It turns out Evan has one upper and one lower molar that are still coming in, and one upper and one lower that have not come in yet! So he only has 18 teeth showing (2 of which are only showing a little!). They are late-teethers like their mama!
I love that LJ can now take pictures for me!
Ellie also did great during the whole appointment! She was very patient and her usual angel-self!
Evan drew me a picture of a tooth while we waited for the dentist to come check them out...
And LJ told me all about teeth with the prop!
Then both boys got X-rays!!! Only LJ was supposed to, but Evan said he needed to go 'get his picture taken too, like LJ' so they let him! These are LJ's teeth... He has all his permanent teeth forming for the front teeth so far (apparently some kids don't). It will be interesting to see if they are missing any permanent teeth like I am (I am just missing one molar). Hopefully not!!! We will not take a full panoramic X-ray of their whole mouth until they are 6 and have all their baby teeth in though!
LJ did great for the dentist too- but Evan did not! He was done being patient and opening his mouth after about 2 minutes!
They got their new tooth brushes and an hour glass to time their brushing! They love it!!
Then of course they got to pick a prize- well actually 2 for sitting through the X-rays so well- from the treasure chest! I am proud of my clean-teeth boys!!!
We will be back in 6 months!
