The Flu Strikes - Again!

After LJ had 24 hours of a fever (who rarely gets fevers), and then a very red and irritated eye along with Evan who was coughing and snotty, I decided to take the boys to the Doctor on Sunday night to get them checked out. They were actually both in great moods and even acted excited to go to the doctor (a little cabin fever maybe since we kept them home with the fever?).
We just went to the nearby Dr. Vik so we could go earlier than the pediatrician's after-hour clinic.

The boys loved looking at the fish while we waited!

Poor LJ's eye gets so irritated lately.... not pink eye looking, but allergy-like!
LJ got all his examine done first...
Then Evan...

No tears- it's a miracle!! LJ tested positive for the flu- I was shocked!! I remember feeling MUCH worse with the flu than LJ does!! It hopefully is a mild case!! Evan tested negative, but Dr Vik thinks this is a false negative. The whole family got a prescription of Tamiflu (mine preventative to keep Ellie safer) and sent us on our way! It was late, but we headed to Walgreens! I let the boys pick a little gift there while we waited - they had been so great at the doctor's office! Evan picked a new football- but a big, real one (he did not want the kids' football) and LJ picked Dark Vador! Could they be more different!?
Monday was a day of pure isolation from the world in our house... sick day!!  Evan will not put his football down! He even sleeps with it in his bed!
LJ made cool things with molding clay and sticks!

I did my best to keep them away from Ellie... not super easy!
And they got some extra TV time on the couch!

Thank God they both got well quickly! LJ's last fever was at the doctor'f office on Sunday night! So we stayed in all day Monday and Tuesday, and back to school they went on Wednesday!

The worst part of this whole thing was that we exposed so many of our family members to the flu over the weekend ... the next week Queenie, Grandad, and poor (very pregnant) Aunt Funny all were very very sick :( We are SOOOOOO SOOOOO Sorry!!!!
Hope no one else gets it this year... and I can't believe we have had it in our house twice since Ellie has been born! Stay away flu!!!!
