Evan is 5 months

Sleep: Throughout the month, he has transitioned from 4 naps a day to 3, and he usually takes a 2-3 hour mid-afternoon nap (while LJ naps). While he was sick, he slept in the nap nanny a lot so his head would be elevated, but we hope to move him to the crib this month.
We have been working on slowly moving his nighttime routine up/ earlier- but of course all bets were off while traveling! So now that we are back, we have moved bath time up - hope to do with LJ most nights, and then get Evan to sleep around 8-8:30  (versus 9:15). Most night we are able to just lay him down very tired, and he will put himself to sleep. He still gets up once in the middle of the night, usually between 1:00 -2:45 am. I bring him down stairs to feed him / pump, which takes an hour, but then he usually goes right back to sleep for 3-4 hours.  I can't wait for him to drop this feeding- but it seems to be his best (he eats 4- 7 ounces whereas he usually eats 3-4 during the day).

Eating: He still usually has 6-7 bottles of about 4 ounces, but overall is eating about 4-5 more ounces a day (so closer to an average of 28 ounces daily).  He has had brown rice cereal many times, and he ate his first non-cereal food on 1-12: sweet potatoes! This month I will be prioritizing his eating a little more, and hope to do a new food every 3-4 days.

Activity:
What a busy month our little man has had, especially considering that the first 2 weeks of the month we were pretty focused on fighting his first virus- RSV! But he did fight and win! He had a pretty bad cough, lots of mucus, and wheezing (we had to do the nebulizer for a few days), but he never got a fever, never lost his appetite (although it did go down slightly for a few days), or got fussy!
Still very happy, easy, and quick to smile! Biggest milestone- he sits up! He still doesn't roll in either direction though! He has strong legs, loves jumping, loves kicking in the bath tub and splashing. He babbles quite a bit, but we haven't heard any mamas, dadas, or babas yet...
He also had his traveling experiences- day trip to Houston and week long trip to El Paso (including first airplane rides!).

And our precious little LJ is 27 months old! He is a great big brother- almost all the time! He occasionally is a little rough on Evan, but he loves him so much, talks to him all the time, tells him stories, shows him / shares toys, hugs him... it is priceless to watch!!
