Evan's first steps

September 30, 2013

Evan took his first steps on September 18- just after his 13 month bday!! In the last 2 weeks, we have seen up to 10 steps in a row- but he is still not in a big hurry to walk alone! He want's to walk all over the house- all over every where- but he really wants to hold at least one hand while he is doing it! As soon as you let go, he drops down to floor. I have tried tricking him and getting him to hold a marker or something else instead of my finger, but it really doesn't work very well- he can tell when I let go, and then he just drops! He does love walking though... he is so happy when he takes steps and loves a big hug when he gets somewhere! I expect he will take off very soon! LJ took his first single steps a little sooner (right before his 1st bday), but he didn't really walk around until after he was 14 months. We will see how quickly Evan gets there!! Here is the first video I have gotten (I am always too busy cheering and catching to get it on video!).....

August 2017, Part 1

Our first full day home from all our summer travel was August 1! The McDonnells moved out of our house while we were in Idaho, but Aunt Sang left some sweet gifts for the kids... and what did I wake up to Tuesday morning? Yes, two boys in their new Captain Underpants undies (on their bodies and heads!) running around playing 'Captain Underpants'! Hilarious!!! First on our list was trying to finish the boys summer work books. Today we are focused on the science experiments, and no one wanted to change before diving in! Freezing different colored ice cubes to determine freezing and then melting points under different conditions... these boys (especially LJ so far) LOVE their science! Quick photo shoot to get a picture for Evan's birthday invitation. We have a very serious Power Ranger here! There's my boy! LJ wants in... The faces are killing me! Another trip to the Austin Aquarium! Just a few more we...

Trampoline Park

Went back to Trampoline Park on Sunday... LJ has gotten so much better and more confident - guess all the practice time on his little trampoline is paying off! Still so much fun for Dad... And the Mamas finally get in on all the fun! Last time we went I was VERY pregnant and couldn't jump... but not this time! I see a frequent Sunday family outing in our future! A little sliding time... And video gaming! Too much fun!!
