Boys' Fall Sports 2016- Flag Football
The Undefeated Greenbay Packers!
We found an awesome flag football coach through Neighborhood Sports. We met him at church one day, and he said he would make sure we got on his team if we wanted ... and we did!!! It was a Pre-K/ Kinder team, so both boys were able to play together! Evan was definitely the youngest on the team (and the most work for the coaches), but both boys really loved it.
Our team was the Greenbay Packers! Shout out to my cousin Ron!!!
We had two practices a week the week leading up to our first game, and then we had Friday evening practices and Saturday morning games. Unfortunately, this over-lapped with some T-ball games (which only LJ was playing), so LJ had to miss 2 football games this season.
The team got their picture taken early in the season, so the boys got theirs together and the team shot is below!
Our first practices were SO hot! I was sweating just sitting there watching them!
Coach BB and Evan... oh thank you for your patience Coach BB!
LJ making a run!
We kept Ellie home from several practices because of the heat, but she would entertain herself just fine if she went along!
LJ missed our first game because our T-ball team really needed him! Evan lost his mouth piece right before the game started, and it really upset him. So Evan's first game was a bit of a disaster!
We still won, because our team/ teammates/ coaches are awesome! But no thanks to the Wood boys this time around!
Coach having to give Evan a pep talk!
Coach BB would take play books to every practice and game and go through all plays with the kids!
Evan running!
Ren getting a flag!
Shaking hands with the other team!
After game huddle...
LJ got to play one of his best buddies from his class!
Players running through the parent tunnel post-game!
And we ended our first season of flag football UNDEFEATED!!! Yay! We loved our coach and team mates and hope to be playing with them in the future- even in other sports!!!
Coach said LJ was 'Most Improved' and was proud of all his hard work this season! Barrett and I were proud too! Way to go LJ!
We had a great, fun season and can't wait to play again!!
Here are some videos for anyone interested!
This is the very first game... Evan finally found a mouth guard and agreed to play.
First part is Evan participatin in a fake hang-off, then Evan is Center (his most polayed position) and hikes the ball. The third part is hilarious- Evan finally got the ball handed to him, and he ran so hard... only it was the WRONG DIRECTION (into another game going on)! Haha!!
This is my favorite- short video of Evan handing the ball off to LJ (first play of the game), and LJ scores a touchdown!!! Yay!
Here is a video from after our last game. Coach BB gave the kids a final talk, then there was a trophy ceremony where he talk a little about each kid individually, then he promised if they went undefeated, they could dog pile him at the end of the season! It was really cute!
This is a LONG season highlight video that our coaches put together. The boys are in it some, but really just fun to watch the team if interested! Otherwise, maybe too long! :)
