January 2016 Randoms

The weather has been mostly amazing! Can't believe it's January, and we are outside playing in short sleeve shirts!
When the boys are out of school and go to the gym with me, they INSIST on getting a smoothy afterwards! I loves smoothies too, so this works out!
Ellie loves her smoothy too!!

Lost Creek Park fun! Here is a video of Ellie doing the slide! She is all over it!

She also loves swinging!
New Broncos Jerseys from Aunt Alexa! The boys are now super excited to learn all about Peyton Manning- Evan is saying they are his favorite now (watch out Cowboys!).

Evan and his cute friend Charlie being silly at the park (we have been going there a lot)!
Enjoying more outside time! Evan has been obsessed with collecting sticks lately!

Almost immediately after getting out of the car, Ellie runs out of the garage and down our driveway to the slide in the back yard! She loves it!!

I love finding these every couple of days - selife by LJ when I didn't realized he had my phone!

UT Basketball game with my babeeee! So much fun! Our first game of the year, and two guys from his all-time favorite band, Reckless Kelly, opened with the National Anthem! Fate!!

Play date with Braeden- crazy boys and lots of fun!  LJ has an after school playdate about once a week now! Sometimes they come here, and sometimes he goes home with his friends from school. Evan has even gotten included in a couple! The two main friends he does this with are Thomas and Braeden. He loves his friends so much!
Ellie now gets food out of the pantry and brings it to me when she wants some!! Veggie straws are her current obsession! She is a very demanding little thing!
Still following me around with her food!

This face!! I can only get her hair out of her face for a few minutes at a time before she pulls whatever is holding it out... but it's so cute when I do!!
Boys started 'Sportsball' where they play a different sport every week. I thought this would be great for them so they got exposed to everything (and see why they like best)! They are loving it!! It's during Evan's usual nap time, so I was a little worried. But he is usually excited enough that he finds the energy!
LJ leaving his first day of Sportsball... Happy boy!
This is the first hour activity that is drop-off! The boys asked me to stay and watch them, but Evan came running over to me twice - even though I was at the back of the gym - which is why they don't want parents there. So I don't stay at all now. I am sad to miss it, but love hearing all about what they did after I get them!

Found LJ creating this one morning when I went to get him! At least he was quiet in his room until it was time to get up!
Singing to Aunt Patsy- we had quite a performance!!!

Ellie got her doll and lots of food out, set her in the chair, and made her something to eat! This was really impressive to me - my 14 month old seems to have a very nurturing heart!!
Then she sat and 'ate' with her!! So cute!!

I love that all three are starting to really play together! Ellie gets herself right in the middle of the boys all the time and attempts to do whatever they are doing!!

Driving home from El Paso, we stopped for breakfast in a McDonalds. It has the biggest fast food restaurant play-scape I'd ever seen! LJ was so excited!

Home after our 8 hour drive and ready to play outside!!!

Love Ellie's new outfit from Gigi!! So cute!!

Evan can't get enough of hugging his sister lately!

The day after we were back from El Paso, I kept the kids home from school and took them all to the doctor.  We were hearing so many coughs, and decided we wanted them all checked. Ellie had such a crazy weekend, but today, on day 4 of croup, she was already sounding SO much better. Doctor said he couldn't even tell she had had croup. Her lungs and ears were clear and good, too! Cleared for hanging out with other kids (although I did try to be a bit cautious for a few more days).
Evan had a little cough, but doctor said it seemed to be allergies.
LJ had a little fluid in one ear, and a lot of drainage going on (which was crazy because his nose was not running at all!). Doctor said he was coughing as a result of this drainage, and may have a sinus infection. We got him on antibiotics and allergy medicine for both boys! But overall, was better than I expected!
And we were in the Star Wars room at the doctor office... this was very exciting for the boys!!

LJ asked if he could take our picture!

After school one day, LJ had a playdate, and Ellie had taken a morning catnap, so Evan, Ellie and I had a Juiceland date before rest time!

Ellie loves basketballs as much as Evan did at this age!!!
And she loves playing fetch with Bella still!

Boys sword fighting with sticks!

We have been trying to get the boys to share a bed sometimes - mostly to make it easier when we travel. But they would never do it! One of them would always change their mind at the last minute and decide to sleep in their own beds.

But after our El Paso trip, they were a little more excited to try it! And they did!! I said they could on weekends only, but they have now had 3 nights where they slept in LJ's bed. They read each other a few books and go to sleep! It's so cute to listen to their sweet conversation!

LJ reading to Evan with his reading light on!
LJ reading to Evan another night- big light still on. LJ got up and turned it off for them soon after this!

Bella stole my spot in the bed - guess it's time to wake up!

Gigi got us Blue Apron meals as a Christmas gift! We got every ingredient needed for 2 meals for 4 people, all delivered in this box and waiting on our door step on day. We made both delicious dinners and loved them!! Thanks Gigi!!
Salmon, salad and farro.
Turkey chili...
Shopping with Mama!
Our new Busytown game... LJ loves it!!! We have already spent a lot of time playing this one!

Singing happy birthday to late January birthday people! Ellie has this routine down!

On Monday (25th), Ellie woke up with a small fever! It was gone by the afternoon, but we decided to stay home and take it easy.

She was back to herself in no time!!
And the weather was beautiful, so we had lots of outside time!

Jumping on the tramp with Dad!

Tuesday she stayed fever free all day and was her happy self!!
But then she had another fever Tuesday night. Felt like an ear infection to me, so I made an appointment for first thing Wednesday morning. Sure enough, the right ear was very infected!! She got an antibiotics and was better very quickly!! She also loved the doctor we saw- first time she has cried or fussed since seeing all these doctors!
Full morning wore her out! I rarely ever give her the chance to nap in her crib in the morning, but she often takes a small catnap as we are driving. I try to keep it under 15 minutes so it doesn't ruin her long afternoon nap, but that doesn't always work!
I love her sweet sleeping face!

Barrett and the boys joined the McDonnells for a really cool fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. They bought and created Build-a-Bear friends to give to kids. Great experience for the kids and wonderful thing to do! They all really loved it!

We ended the month with dinner at Fudruckers... kids had been asking to go there, and the weather was too perfect to not be outside!

The year is off to a good start!
