Ellie the 8 Month Old!
8 months of happiness!!! Love our sweet girl!
She is 8 months on Barrett's 35th Birthday - a reason we picked Oct 23!
Sleep:
Ellie usually sleeps through the night, but maybe a couple times a week wakes up for a quick feeding then right back to bed! Bedtime is the same- a typical night is around 7:30 pm to 7/ 7:30 am and, if she got up in the middle of the night for a bottle, sometimes as late as 9 am!
She is now sleeping in her crib for all sleep (she moved out of the pac n play in my closet just over a month ago), and the transition was seamless! I think she is more comfortable in her crib! Also, she loves turning on her ocean wonders night soother (a little thing attached to her crib that lights up and plays music when you hit a button- which she does by herself)!
She loves her pacis (2 are kept in her bed only), puts them in and out of her mouth as she pleases, and has a blankie in there that she loves to snuggle with! She is starting to move around much more in her crib so we just lowered the mattress.
She still takes 2 naps a day. The morning one is 30 mins (if we are on the go) to 2 hours long (if we stay home) and the afternoon nap is usually 2-3 hours long. She usually goes right down without any complaints and wakes up happy!
Eating:
Ellie has 4-6 bottles of formula a day (usually around 24 ounces in a day) and also eats 3 meals a day. She LOVES finger foods and feeding herself, so I have been trying to give her many options on her tray! She eats most anything we are eating, provided I can make the bites easy enough to eat with no teeth!
Other Milestones:
She is more vocal every day!! We have heard Dada (her first word!), ba ba, and many other single sounds.
She scoots all around in circles to get to or reach her toys, and seems to be getting close to a good army crawl (crawling on her tummy). She seems interested in real crawls, but can't seem to figure out how to get her legs in the right position (you can see how she leans way forward but her legs stop her in the monthly photos!). I think, unlike her brothers, this next month is her crawling month! She seems pretty close to me! I have even seem some of the 'rocking' motion many babies do right before they crawl!
She is still so happy and smiley, and we have started to hear some more / harder laughing!! She is obsessed with her brothers, and loves other babies too!
