Locke's 2nd Birthday and Christmas Tree Lighting
The last day of November, we celebrated Locke's 2nd birthday with a new tradition of sorts: since his birthday is at the beginning of December, it coincides with the lighting of the big Christmas tree in Zilker park. The first night they light the tree is a little festival thing under it, so since the Robinsons live so close to the park, after celebrating the birthday boy, we walk down and watching this first lighting. We did this last year as well, and it's really fun!
While LJ was waiting to go to the party, he got in Ellie's 'nap nanny'. When I asked him to smile, he said, "Wait, first serious face, then smile." And that's just what he did! Ha!
I just want to share the ninja moves LJ is doing in the background in the next two pictures! This is our life around here- LJ is always doing ninja moves!
Off to the party we went! So many fun things to do... boys decorated cookies (and ate a few!). I love how into decorating LJ gets!
Showing us his cookie- very proud!! Great job LJ- I love that cookie's face!
Queenie and Grandad kept an eye on Ellie- she was asleep when we got there, and then Queenie rocked her to keep her that way!
After singing to Locke and cupcakes, we were off to Zilker Park for the first lighting of the huge Christmas tree! We parked close to the park and then walked in. Ellie slept through most of the event!
LJ and Evan were very excited- and loved their glow sticks (what a great idea Laura!)!!
Of course LJ's glow stick immediately turned into a weapon (as all things do!).
Kids running around having fun as we waited...
And there it is!!! Love this Austin tradition!!
Hard to see - but the boys are in that picture!
Family shot- but really hard to see us!
Didn't get one with the boys looking! O well- maybe next year!
