Finding Things to Do on No-School Days
We have had several inclement weather days causing school cancellations the last weeks, so we have tried to find other fun things to do on those days... .
The first time, we had LJ's dentist appointment.
The second day, we waited for the ice to melt, then went to run around the mall (and the boys literally ran in circles there!).
The third time, we went to the Thinkery (Austin Children's museum). Laura and her boys were there and enjoying the place to themselves, until about 20 minutes before we arrived. By the time we got in and started playing, it was almost unbearably crowded! Thank goodness Gigi was in town with us so she could help me when the boys wanted to be in separate rooms! I can't wait to go back though - hopefully on a much less crowded day!
LJ in a flower and popping out of a carrot!
Evan in a mirrored tent!
Both boys loved the chicken coop, but Evan loved it the most! We had a hard time getting him out of it!
Then the forth and most recent school cancellation, we met a few of LJ's friends from WHPP at Hoppin' House (an indoor facility with all kinds of jumpy house things and a foam pit). LJ had a blast with his friends! It was pretty empty so they had the run of the place! We had not been here for over 6 months, and it was a whole new experience for Evan! He loved the bouncy houses...
And even tried follow LJ up the huge air blown ladder to go down the slide (thankfully he didn't make it- I was nervous about that one!).
And the funniest part was the foam pit! LJ pushed him in the first time, and then he wouldn't stop doing it all by himself over and over! He would scoot to the edge and face plant in!
Evan mid-air... see how high the ledge is he was jumping off of though! He is pretty daring!
LJ and his friends were also taking turns jumping into the pit- they were so happy!
We have had some fun times making the best of no-school days!
