A Visit to Aunt Betsy's Lake House
We usually get to see Barrett's family in Houston a few times a year. But after the annual December visit to Houston got canceled, and then we had to miss Granny's annual birthday celebration in January (LJ had a basketball game that Barrett was coaching), we knew we had to find another time to go visit! The first chance we had was Spring Break, and then we found out Granny and Betsy would be up at Betsy's lake house in .....
We got a later start than we hoped, but just before 8 am, we were all loaded up and headed to lake house to see Granny, Aunt Betsy, and (although we didn't know it yet!) Aunt Julie! Ellie was a little out of it, but the boys were so excited!!!
We even had Bella with us! Yay!
We stopped at Woody's Smokehouse for a quick potty break, and the boys loved all the animals! LJ asked for this picture with the Eagle- of course, LJ!!
Before we knew it, we had arrived! The weather was perfect and scene was breathtaking! LJ got right to playing fetch with all the cute dogs! Evan played some too... and all the kids enjoyed the yard and being outside!
And then we got to go fishing!!! LJ's favorite!! He was so excited! Down to the dock we went...
Crazy girl!!
Cuddles with cute Fred!!
Happy fisherman!!
Evan and Aunt Julie...
Handsome hubby!
Aunt Betsy was so sweet to get all this gear out and get the boys set up!! And they were so excited!
Ellie was more excited about her cookie!!!
Trying the other side of the dock....
Kids were very excited to throw bread to the fish!
There was a basket full of minnows that the kids could grab and use as bait... this was so exciting (grabbing and touching a fish)! Aunt Betsy teaching them how to get the minnows...
LJ got it!
LJ gave Evan one...
And even Ellie got one... haha!
LJ taking the initiative and going for more bait...
Hugs for Aunt Betsy from crazy Ellie!
Had to attempt a few group shots before heading back home..
One more of the kids with their Great- Granny!!!
Thankful for such a full and wonderful day!!! We loved seeing family and catching up, and it couldn't have been in a more beautiful setting!!! We hope to go back and visit again soon (in fact, the boys asked to go back for the next 5 mornings!!)!
