LJ's Piano Recital, May 2017

Image
So proud of LJ for his performance in his second piano recital.  After less than one year of lessons, we have seen him learn and improve so much! The recital took place at Steinway Piano Gallery, and just before we got started, the Gallery honored LJ's piano teacher!  Although we haven't worked with Ms. Annette very long, we are very happy with her and how well she works with LJ!  Since LJ is her youngest student, he was first to play!  Ms. Annette was up there with him playing the duet part!   The program:   Here is a video of his performance. It is just under 2 mins...  http://www. youtube .com/watch? v=KItKQJqDQN8 Thank you to Queenie and Grandad for coming to support him!! It was very special to have you all there!

Tball for LJ and Evan, Spring 2017

Image
LJ played his second season of Tball with Cedar Park Youth League (CPYL) on the national teams. It is the most competitive tball league around us, and we were a little nervous about it since he hasn't played long! And in all honesty, we didn't think we had much of a chance doing well as the season started, and we saw our competition! But the 6U Braves team came SO far this season, and we actually ended up doing better than I expected (well, we weren't last, and I saw so much improvement!!).  LJ was #8, and I must say I just loved the way he looked in his uniform!!  Evan and Ellie each has friends that they loved to hang with during practice or games! I really did enjoy our time at the baseball field this spring!  Evan and his soccer buddies (who all have siblings playing tball!). Ellie and one of her besties, Payton!  Evan was so excited to have his tball uniform still on from his game earlier that day! So cute!! I...

A New Member to the Wood Fam!! Meet Skye!

We have been looking for a new dog for about 8 months... We needed to wait to not have our house for sale and to be a little more settled in our house, but Barrett especially has been wanting another bigger dog since we lost Calcy in June, 2015. And at the end of March, 2017, we finally found a dog that seemed to be exactly what we were looking for! Barrett found her on a shelter's website and communicated with the shelter about getting her for a couple weeks. Adoption from this shelter was a more elaborate process than we expected. They called our vet and came to our house for a visit and fence check before we could even meet her. Here is the picture of Skye from the website: Ugh- those eyes!!!  It is pretty clear why Barrett thought she was beautiful... she has a striking resemblance to someone else he loved very dearly! So after church the next Sunday, we headed to Walmart to do some shopping. We knew we would be bringing her home that day (as long as meeting h...
