Dell Match Play PGA Event in Austin, 2016

Image
I got to attend my first PGA event this weekend - and it was in Austin! I had never been to Austin Country Club before, and I was actually surprised at how beautiful it is!!! Barrett went to the event for 3 days, but I only joined him for Friday. We got to go with two other couples, the Averys and the Gunthers. Here's a shot of the girls... Bloody Mary on a Friday around noon... rare treat!!!  (I forgot my glasses so went immediately after this picture to buy a visor! Excuse my squinty eyes!)  And the boys!      Love this!   We saw this beautiful view and had to attempt a picture- before we even realized that it was right on the tee box for #12! Thanks to the lady there for letting us finish taking our picture! Hah!     Rory behind us!   Had to get this one!!! So fun!  Here are some shots I got of the golfers! Before meeting Barrett, I knew very little about golf! But after watching...

Dinner with Queenie and Grandad!

Image
We loved our weekly dinners with Queenie and Grandad at Jack Allen's, but they will no longer be possible from our new house (the commute would be crazy!). So we thought maybe we would try to do dinners somewhere between our houses now! Our first attempt was at a good and very fun place none of us had been, Napa Woodfire Pizza. Unfortunately, Q & G still had a very long commute, but we may try it again since there was a big gold tournament going on that could've made it worse.  The kids loved the restaurant though, and we will definitely head there again sometime either way!  The waitress gave each kid their own pizza dough and the boys cheese and sauce, so they were able to make their own pizzas! Then she put them in the oven, and they got to eat their personally made appetizer! So fun!!  Evan decided to mix the cheese and sauce before putting it on the dough... not the way I wouldn't gone about it, but that's why it's his!!!  LJ was very int...

First Weekend in Cedar Park- and first house guests!!!

Image
Friday we had some very special visitors arrive!! Our first weekend in our new house (well technically Barrett's 2nd), and we already get to have our first house guests!!! Yay!!! Aunt Patsy, Tio Sergio, and Auntie Lori drove down from El Paso for the weekend. We had an engagement party to go to on Saturday, but we got our visitors from Friday afternoon through Monday morning! Blessed!! We met them outside right as they drove up after their 8 hour drive from El Paso!!  Big hugs for all!!! They brought the kids super cute little Easter goodies, including these funny masks!! Haha! Enjoying a relaxing night eating at the house and catching up!! Yay!  Saturday morning we had the McDonnell Egg hunt, and then we dropped the kids off at home for their rest time while we headed to a ranch about an hour north of our house to my cousin Patrick's  and Erica's engagement party!! They are the most precious couple, and we had such a wonderful time...

McDonnell Egg Hunt 2016

Image
We got to attend our favorite annual egg hunt again this year- the McDonnell Egg Hunt! And as an added bonus, we had our Aunt Patsy, Auntie Lori, and Tio Sergio in town!! Thanks so much for letting our big group join in the fun, McDonnells!! As usual, Sang did an absolutely amazing job preparing for the most fun morning!!! There was one exciting event after another, and we had a blast! After a little catching up and a little food, it was time to for the Egg Hunt to begin! Sang had the wall of egg-hunters set up, with a picture of the kids with the type of egg they would be hunting below. Each kid had 20 eggs of a certain type to find all over the McDonnell front yard (only Ellie and Charley had less since they were the youngest hunters!). 16 hunters in all!  Sang explained the rules to the kids.... When she announced that Evan was hunting football eggs, he yelled, "YES!!!!" It was so cute!  And then we sat them on the stairs and took advantage of t...
