Eagle Jr 3rd Birthday

Image
We went over to the Robinson's house on Eagle Jr's 3rd birthday after naps to celebrate the little guy! It was just a few girls and kids, but a great time. LJ loved Eagle's new costumes from Grandad and Queenie! He tried several of them on himself... for example, the fire fighter costume! After lots of playing, dressing up, and eating pizza, we got to sing to Eagle Jr... Evan is obsessed with cupcakes! He was so excited! Happy birthday sweet Eagle Jr! Looking forward to continuing the celebration at your party in a couple weeks! - The Wood Family

Saturday morning fun!

Image
We love our Saturday mornings! We usually start at the Farmer's Market (unless unbearably cold or rainy), and often we get to see Queenie, Grandad and some cousins there! The boys insist on getting a taco from the Taco Deli tent now (Evan actually pulls me over there), and then they like to sit down, listen to music, and eat.  And sometimes, like in the picture below, Queenie gets the boys cupcake! Some mornings there are weird things- like goats on leashes- to check out at the Farmer's Market! I love the boys walking around holding hands and exploring together ... Then we usually run another errand of some sort... Academy, Target, Mall... where ever we need to go. Or if we don't need to go anywhere, we will go to a park and play for a while before lunch at Vivo. Eating at Vivo with the family is our Saturday morning highlight! We are so thankful for Queenie and Grandad for making this wonderful and special family tradition happen e...

New Session of Swim Lessons

Image
We started LJ's 3rnd session of swim lessons at Emler's a few weeks ago. LJ is still in the class with Ben and Eagle, and now his other best friend Thomas has joined them. These are four fun boys!! We have a new teacher this semester, and the boys have moved up to Advanced Aqua-Tots. We also switched from having lessons on Friday evenings to Friday mornings- which is a new dynamic!  So far, they have worked more on 'destination swimming' (boys swim to a fixed thing in the water or back to the edge by themselves versus to a person which LJ does now), floating on their backs, and other important safety issues. I look forward to watching them have fun and improve together over the next months! The hardest part of the lesson for me is keeping Evan out of the water! He wants to be in that pool so badly!! Thank goodness I have Aunt Funny and Aunt Sang there most days to help keep him happy!

Dogs- Teeth Cleaning and Calcy's Surgery

Image
It's been a full month for our poor dogs!  Both of our dogs are over 9 years old now, and they had never had their teeth cleaned professionally. We had several vets recommend this happen, so we finally made them appointments for January 16. I found myself a little nervous taking them in to go under anesthesia, but thank goodness they both did very well.  Poor Bella had several issues with her teeth. Apparently tennis balls are like sandpaper for their enamel, and anyone who knows Bella, knows that she is absolutely obsessed with tennis balls! We can't even have them in our house because she goes so crazy for them. She has worn most her teeth way down (little stubs!), and had to have 9 teeth removed! I did learn that most dogs have around 42 teeth though, so she still has plently teeth to eat!  Also, when she was about 3 years old, we were playing fetch in freezing cold Oklahoma (at the Russell farm), and she knocked one of her teeth out with the frozen ball- or ...

First Time Cruising in a Convertible!

Image
After LJ's swim lesson on Valentine's Day, we went over to the McDonnell's house to play until nap time. We had to enjoy the amazing weather- and where better to do it!? LJ got to take Ben's convertible (and sister!) for a cruise!! He LOVED Ben's car, and it was so fun to watch him learn how to 'drive'! Then Ben showed LJ how it's done! He was such an impressive little driver! After parking the car in the garage, LJ jumped out and said "Ok now we have to look under here (as he opened the hood) and check on the battery."  After dealing with battery issues in both mine and Barrett's car lately, I think LJ now knows more about cars than we do! Evan's turn to take a ride! Oops- he needs to check on that battery again! He stood leaning back with his hand on his hip for a minute before leaning in to mess with it- hilarious!  His tongue! Ha! Evan and his eyes! Thanks for pictures Sang!! Evan kept trying...
