A Visit to the El Paso Zoo- Our first time!

We started out the year with a family outing to the El Paso Zoo- and my good friend Sara, Ava, and Oliver joined us! Oliver and Ava had been there before so he was our tour guide! We were pleasantly surprised by how many great animals were there! We will definitely be going back! Lots of zebras- and they were hanging ostriches... LJ just observing while Gigi points things out... Oliver and LJ checking out Zebras... Ok the giraffes were definitely MY favorite- watching them drink water was so funny (and a little sad!)... Gigi, LJ, and Ava looking at the funny little animals... Just funny... Lobos!! The world's largest rodent- gross! Looking at the reptiles... There were also lions, tigers, lots of birds, sea lions, and more!! Think we had more fun than LJ- but hopefully he will be more excited every time we go!

Corona - Week 6 (but who's counting!)

Our online school assignments will now be available starting Sundays! I was hoping for this, but then barely glanced at them! Hah! I told the kids we need to stay focused and get through most our work at the beginning of the week so we could play more towards the end of the week. This worked very well!! We got in several hours of hard work on Monday, and it felt great to start the week productive! Evan's work: Uses of water: LJ's work: Making shapes from house hold items... or mom's bags! haha! We are out of fresh fruits, so we have been having lots of smoothies! And thank goodness, the kids are loving them (thank you Arbonne Protein Mix!). Ellie LOVES doing most of the work to prepare them, and I love my little helper! We went to Mapache for our school work on Tuesday... One project this week was to make names out of natural resources... Mapache was a fun plac...

LJ's Art, Writing, and his Book

LJ has come such a long way the last year in his coloring, drawing, writing, and 'spelling things out'. Here is some of his work from the last 6 months or so... Told him to work on his letters one day- he wrote the alphabet (bottom of page), then practiced faces, names, , etc! The note below: LJ was busy writing in the corning of the living room at Capi and Gigi's house in January, and I said, "LJ! What are you doing?! Time for bed!" And he said, "Mom, I was writing you a note about what I was doing!" The note is meant to say: Where is Evan Blanket LJ Find it LJ cannot find it LJ often writes all our family names on his papers/ drawings, etc! This is a card he randomly made one day. It says: LJ 'loves' (via a heart) Ben Kate McDonnell. This picture was from many months ago, but the first one that I realized how well he is coloring- staying in the lines and using different/ correct colors! I was so imp...
